First, a caution-- I am somewhat concerned about the commercialization of the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem. FHMP is a "-faith" missions, and we have no regular salary. We do ask for investment in our work from time to time, and this is fine for such "works." There is a fine line, however, between those who solicit legitimate support and out right personal kingdom building. Beware!
I saw several statements today on the BBC Website which are good descriptions of the present "state of war" in Jerusalem:
1. "House-by-house struggle for East Jerusalem"
2. "No piece of ground on the planet is more contested than Jerusalem"
3. "Sometimes you can see just why it is so difficult to make peace in
Jerusalem"
Here is my prayer for Jerusalem: "Father, in Jesus' Name, I pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May only they prosper who love Jerusalem with a pure heart and recognize that Jerusalem is, 'the city of the Great King.' Hasten the day when millions will recognize Jerusalem as, 'the city of the Great King,' Jesus, the Christ."
Regardless of some who would take advantage of this concerted prayer effort for personal gain, I encourage you to participate. Focused, unified prayer is powerful.

When Peter, an 18 year old Norwegian, "heard the call to evangelize China, on that day he not only emptied his wallet into the collection plate, but included a small note with the words, 'and my life.'"
