'DREAD OF GOD HAS NO EFFECT"

"An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked person:  Dread of God has no effect on him." (Psalm 36:1, CSB)

As I look at the current state of the world, there are times when I am tempted to take a "what's-the-use" approach.  Instead of the reverse, viz., seeing people begin to walk in, "the fear of the Lord," we are reading of and watching, "Dread of God has no effect on him."

Our text perfectly describes individuals and nations who reject Jesus Christ, His Person, His Work.  Now I confess that I pray mostly, "....with the spirit."  Frankly, most of the time I just do not know, "....how to pray as I ought."  But when I do, "pray with my understanding," I intend to add our text to that praying, that the leaders of nations and the rest of humanity experiences, "Dread of God has...effect on him."

Father, in Jesus' Name, may it be so.  Amen.

"....EVERYTHING MUST BE FULFILLED...."

"He said to them, 'This is what I told you while I was still with you:  Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.'"  (Luke 24:44)

Here you have Jesus' Word on, "the Words of God," aka, the Bible.

This should help you every time you read any portion of Scripture.  Look for King Jesus.  I encourage you to especially do this when reading the Pentateuch.  He is "in there" everywhere, His Person, His Work, the foreshadowing of the Cross----- everything.

Father, in Jesus' Name, thank You for so much glorious further revelation of You.  Amen.

"Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.'"  (Luke 22:20)

....and you and you and you.

Jesus shed His Most Precious Blood for humanity, all humanity, believer and unbeliever alike.  You know that the Bible says that He, "....desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the Truth"------- and so it is.  Rejoice! with me.

FAITH'S GREATEST OPPORTUNITY

"Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, 'Why are we sitting here until we die?  If we say, "We will enter the city," the famine is in the city, and we shall die there.  And if we sit here, we die also."  (2 Kings 7:4a,b)

Robert E. Lee said after Chancellorsville, "I was too week to defend, so I attacked."  This was the attitude of the four leprous men.  

In our walk in Jesus Christ there come moments when the Red Sea is in front of us, mountains on both sides, and Pharaoh's army behind us.  Sometimes desperation can be a good situation in which to find ourselves.  Perhaps that is faith's greatest opportunity. 

Father, in Jesus' Name, thank You for faith's great opportunities.  Amen.
