"THE SECRET THINGS"

"The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law."  (Deuteronomy 29:29)

This a familiar and oft-quoted verse.  When I read it the other day, however, it was a reminder:  "The secret things..," are not for you and me.  They are for the Godhead alone; Our King Jesus reminded us of this just before His ascension.

Rather, give our lives to what is, "revealed."  And the reason for all of this?---"....that we may do all the Words of this Law."

Father, in Jesus' Name, remind me any time I attempt to delve into, "the secret things."  Amen.

TEARS OF THANKSGIVING TODAY

"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."  (Galatians 3:13, 14)

Read Deuteronomy chapter 28:15-68 and you will find just some of the well-deserved curses on man's rebellion.

Read today's text, and, as I did this morning, you may just find yourself with tears of thanksgiving for our Living Triune God in Jesus Christ, "....Who Himself bore our sins in His own Body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness...."

        

        "Jesus paid it all,

        All to Him I owe;

     Sin had left a crimson stain,

     He washed it white as snow.

Father, in Jesus' Name, I freely admit that my rebellion deserved all the curses.  Thank You for such amazing grace, "so great a salvation."  Amen

"THIS HOPE WE HAVE AS AN ANCHOR OF THE SOUL...."

"This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek."  (Hebrews 6:19, 20)

"This hope," which you and I have in Jesus Christ, is for us, "....an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast...."  Our text tells us that we not only have, "....this hope...as an anchor of the soul," but we have entered in Jesus Christ into the very, "....Presence behind the veil...."

No one has to say, "I hope I make it."  We are already"there," in Jesus Christ, in His, "....Presence behind the veil.... Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the Blood of Jesus,...let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith...." (Chapter 10) 

Father, in Jesus' Name, I so thank You for, "This hope."  Amen.
