"....YOUR SERVANT FOREVER" (DT 15:17)

"Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord...."  (2Peter 1:1, 2a)

If the great Apostle, the one handed the keys of the Kingdom, can consider himself, "a bondservant," then I gladly "join the club."

Yes, our King Jesus Christ calls us friends, but what I see of the great men of Holy Writ is an acknowledged surrendering of all rights and titles to the One Who is our Master.  As the song of years ago concludes, a song written about the slave who voluntarily went to the door post and had his master drive an aul through his ear as a sign of ownership, "a free man I'll never be." (Deuteronomy 15:17)

"I'm not my own, I belong to Jesus, He purchased me, I'm all His; bought with a price, the Bl0od of Jesus, I'm not my own, I'm His."

Father, in Jesus' Name, my "will" is no longer "free."  I'm Yours.  Amen.

"....THOSE WHO HAD NEED OF HEALING"

"But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the Kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing."  (Luke 9:11)

My texts come from my daily reading.  What I "receive" I then pass on to you.

Note that the Kingdom of God and healing go together.  It's really quite simple:  The Kingdom of God/Heaven is the domain of King Jesus.  Healing is the health care of His Government.

Father, in Jesus' Name, my faith does not always avail myself of Your, "....exceeding great and precious promises," but I do thank You for them/You.  Amen.

"THEN I PRAYED...."

"Once again David inquired of the Lord, and the Lord answered him, 'Go down to Keilah, for I am going to give the Philistines into your hand.'"  (1 Samuel 23:4)

David was an excellent fighter; no one can doubt that.  David was also, though, a person of absolute dependency on, "The Lord is my Shepherd."  He sought His Shepherd, Jesus, in this "in-the-moment" decision of battle.

So, as I read this passage today, I thought of Jesus' parable, "that men should always pray and never give up."  In today's text, I took the application that we should pray about everything, not just have prayer times.  "The king said to me, 'What is it you want?' Then I prayed to the God of Heaven...."  This was Nehemiah's in-the-moment respond to a life demand.

Father, in Jesus' Name, thank You so much that I can do as David and Nehemiah did.  Amen.

JESUS CHRIST, "LORD OF THE SABBATH"

"Then Jesus said to them, 'The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.'"  (Luke 6:5)

Religious folk set forth religious ideas to make them look more religious; every world religion confirms this.

This was the scene in today's text.  Jesus' men were following Him on a Sabbath Day.  They became hungry, and provided for their hunger by picking s0me heads of grain.  But, because He interrupted the prevailing, accepted religious order, religionists condemned Him for allowing such action.

Mark 2:27 tells us of this incident that Jesus then said, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath."  Religionists do not get this.  The world religions call people to serve them.  Jesus Christ says, in effect, "What I do, I do for you."

Father, in Jesus' Name, I so want to manifest You.  Amen.

WHERE GOD'S WORD DOSE HIS WORK

"But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, 'says the Lord,' I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My People."  (Jeremiah 31;33, KJV)

The newer translations say, "in their minds."  I like, "inward parts."  It tells me of the deep, inward working of, "so great a salvation."

The world religions can only work on the "outside" of the human being.  And, quite frankly, much christianeze implies the same, e.g. "getting into the presence of God."  This is God working from the outside in.  Our Lord Jesus Christ works from the inside out.

This is power working, power saving, power keeping: Get the Word of God, "in their inward parts, and...in their hearts."  The "outward parts" just won't be affected if the, "inward parts," are not first.

What happens in the New Birth, in conversion is that by virtue of the Cross, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Living Triune God brings all that He Is into all that you and I are.

Father, in Jesus' Name, I so pray for the revelation which I need to walk more and more in such victory.  Amen.
