Here's A "Worship Experience" For Us

"The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within.  And they do not rest day or night, saying" (Are you ready for this?)

 'Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, (Yes, you are reading it as it was written) Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!'"  (Revelation 4:8)

The note in the margin says that in some of the ancient manuscripts the text is exactly as I have written it above.  There just may be something about, "Holy," you and I need to examine more closely.  It will be/is our eternal worship.

Father, in Jesus' Name, Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy are You, Father, Son Jesus, Holy Spirit!  Amen.

"Where Were You...?"

"Where were you when...?"  (Job 38:1)

Job 38 day: The question to Job "rings" through the ages.  This is not a question to belittle.  This is a question to bring us to the reality of the Sovereign Lord Jesus Christ, Who is, "....the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End."

To all the people who ask God, "Why?"-- To all who complain about wars, pandemics, people in governments who are, "denying the Lord Who bought them," and to those who secretly, though professing Believers, deep in their hearts have so many questions, even doubts about how the Triune God does things, allows things, the question is still, "Where were you when...?"  May this question bring us all to our "senses."

Father, in Jesus' Name, I confess that I was not, "....when...."  Amen.

I have been praying our text for quite awhile now.  Here's what happened this morning.

A couple of us were praying, and I had a little child moment.  I asked the Lord Jesus, "What are You doing now?"  Tonight in another prayer meeting I believe He said, "the same thing you are doing."  

Father, in Jesus' Name, I don't want to "grow up."  Amen.

The Word Cannot Get "Old"-- The Word Is Eternal

"The Lord sat enthroned at the Flood, and the Lord sits as King forever.  The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace."  (Psalm 20:10, 11)

Every month I read this.  It just never, ever gets "old" to me.  Jesus Christ is our Forever King, Forever Strength, Forever Peace. 

Jesus Christ is, "King of kings and Lord of Lords."  To put the Eternal Reality of this in time/space terms, Jesus has always been, "King of kings and Lord of lords," Is now, and forever shall be.  The same is true of our text.  Jesus had Noah and his family under His care and Kingship, "at the Flood."  Millennia later, His birth was the introduction of this reality to the human race, "God in Three Persons, Blessed Trinity."

Then notice what else we have in the Eternal One.  The Bible elsewhere confirms that Jesus Christ is our, "strength," and, "peace."  The guns may go off in Ukraine; gas prices are higher than ever here in Western PA, as well as food prices.  Yet, in the midst of great uncertainty in world events, I pray that you and I lay hold of our life in Jesus Christ, "strength," and, "peace." Jesus, "sat enthroned," with Noah through the Flood.  Jesus does no less for/with/in you and me.

Father, in Jesus' Name, as the song writer proclaimed, "Lead on O King Eternal."  Amen.
