"But they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy." (2 Chronicles 36:16)
I am concerned that this is awaiting the United States of America in this year. In 2008 America elected the most radical person ever to live in the White House, advocates the murder of the unborn so that young girls like his daughters "won't have to be punished with pregnancy," recognizes the legitimacy of homosexual marriages, advocates stealing money from entrepreneurs to keep mostly sluggards happy, hopes for high gasoline prices so that you and I as stupid, uneducated consumers will stop driving so much, advocates a foreign policy which rewards Islam and the nation's enemies, and punishes Israel----- dare I go on? If Americans elect him and leaders like him again, it could very well be, "there was no remedy."
America is a nation which has followed the wicked kings of Israel. I know I sound like the proverbial "broken record," but contrary to King Josiah's contrition when he heard the Words of God, American leaders said to King Jesus in the early 1960s, "We don't want Your Prayer affecting our children, and we do not want Your Words filling their minds." No President, no Congress, no Supreme Court since has made any attempt to reverse that which has been taking America towards, "there was no remedy." It is a nation which has been dominated by people who reject Jesus Christ as King, His Words as our Law, and His Kingdom as the only Kingdom. Rebuke the Devil, make all the prophetic declarations as we might, when a nation reaches the point, "till there was no remedy," it is in for a most ominous time.
Some years ago I heard a man say about the Pergamon Altar here in Berlin, "Oh, don't worry about that. She (a very "prominent" prophetess) was there and took care of that." Really? What absolute presumption. I pray neither you nor I would ever have such an arrogant attitude about anything. Contrary to what he and she believe, "Satan's Seat" is still here and it is still affecting this great city and people group. Whatever individuals may do is only temporary. Until there is national repentance, which means, national change of behavior, "till there was no remedy," is still a fearful possibility.
Father, in Jesus' Name, I pray for whatever mercy You can show to America and Germany and the nations of the world. I beseech Thee that we have not come to the place where, "nothing could be done." Amen.
