If You Need a Prayer, I Have The Best For You

"I will extol You, my God, O King; and I will bless Your name forever and ever." (Psalm 145:1)

Charles Spurgeon said of this Psalm, "It is...David's favourite....It is...praise pitched in a high key....It is...his crown jewel of praise."  I claim that same statement.  It says everything for me.  Thank you, David.  It is called "A Praise of David."  Indeed, no greater praise has ever been offered by a mortal.  "Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever....His greatness is unsearchable....I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty....I will declare Your greatness....Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom (or, 'a kingdom of all ages') and Your dominion endures throughout all generations....My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, and all flesh shall bless His holy name forever and ever."

How appropriate this Psalm would be for the "Holocaust Remembrance" day, May 1. What a powerful testimony to the Jewish People this is.  What glorious reminder that no matter what history has brought their way, or yours and mine for that matter, this is Who the Living Triune God is in all reality, the Faithful, the Eternal One, the One Who Alone, "endures throughout all generations."  And, my friend, so will you and I, if we walk in Him, abide in Him, and obey Him.

The passing of centuries has revealed that the Gospel of Jesus has been a, "stumbling block," and, "foolishness."  Generation after generation, and not just Jews, have, "stumbled at that stumbling stone," over the realities that, "the Word became flesh and dwelt among us," that the Living Triune God is indeed Triune, Father, Son, Holy Spirit, that Jesus, "who for us men and our salvation came down," that, "there is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus," that, "without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness," and that Blood is not, "the blood of bulls and goats,...but...the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot."

Jesus said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."  Of course, "Your kingdom is a kingdom of all ages."

Father, in Jesus' Name, Amen.

You Are, "Our Hope,..Joy,..Rejoicing"

"For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing?  Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?" (1 Thessalonians 2:19)

I really hope that reporting on the news and the prophetic opinions which I share do not come across as negative or depressing.  For me, reality may be depressing to most, but not to those of us who have no agenda of our own, only the will and purposes of the Living Triune God, revealed solely in Jesus Christ, and, "seek first the Kingdom of God."  You are, "our hope," and, "our joy," and, "crown of rejoicing...in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming," and we so do pray that it will be so, "at His coming!"  Yes, "our joy," is in Jesus Christ and His Church, His People.  None of us is without our "issues," and none of us is without sin and struggles.  But in Jesus Christ we are cleansed by His Most Precious Blood, filled with the Holy Spirit, kept, strengthened, healed, made whole, delivered, set free, on our way to Heaven, all in Father's love and care.

This coming Sunday, May 1, 2011, is Yom Ha 'Shoah Sunday, the day of "Remembrance" of those who were murdered in the Holocaust.  I will be participating in the March in Pittsburgh.  If you are in the area and would like to participate, the march will start at the corner of Forbes and Murray Avenue in Squirrel Hill at 15:00.  There will be two other stops along the way.  A survivor of the Holocaust will be sharing at the final location.  This is a "demonstration" to the Jews of Pittsburgh and the Gentile community that we are committed not only to "remember," but a commitment to do all we can to work towards frustrating the plans of those who still wish the death and destruction of the global Jewish Community and the Nation of Israel.  I was invited to participate in a reception given by the Israeli Ambassador in DC next Thursday, but I will be in Romania.  I'm sensing more and more, "These are the days of Elijah...and Ezekiel."  No depressing, "No Fear," no sadness.  "Behold, He is coming with clouds!"

Father, in Jesus' Name, we pray for grace to do what You have called us to do.  Amen.
