POWERFUL TESTIMONY FROM A FRIEND

"The Words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life."  (John 6:63b)

These Words are from, "The Word of God," Himself, Jesus.

The following is from a friend of ours:

"From the mid 80s to the early 90s I experienced many panic or anxiety attacks.  I was almost helpless at times.  The Dr. told me that I would just have to learn to deal with it.  I began reading the Psalms when an attack came, and found greater relief if the Psalms were read out loud.  The attacks ceased a few months later."

Father, in Jesus' Name, I so thank You for this glorious testimony of the life-giving power in Your Words.  Amen.

"ALL SCRIPTURE IS GOD-BREATHED AND...USEFUL"

"All Scripture is God-Breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."  (2 Timothy 3:16, 17)

Every Word in Sacred Writ, is the very Breath of the Living Triune God.   When I read the Bible, the very Breath of the Blessed Trinity is moving in my entire being.  This is the same Breath Jesus breathed into His Followers after His resurrection.

Decades ago, a person who was having severe spiritual and emotional problems came to me in total despair.  At one point, I asked him if he reads the Bible.  He said, "Very little."  I told him that there was nothing I could do for him if he did not submit himself to the, "Words of God."  Too many "counselors" would not agree with me.  But I can say with certainty that if the, "the Words of God," do not enter into my mind/heart, the words of man will do me no good. 

"The entrance of Your Words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple."  (Psalm 119:130)

Father, in Jesus' Name, thank You for writing this in my heart.  Amen.

'REMEMBER...."

"Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descended from David.  This is my gospel...."  (2 Timothy 2:8)

"Remember Jesus Christ...."  May this be be our last thought before sleep, and our first thought upon arising.

The Enemy doesn't really care about anything else we do.  Just do not,  "Remember Jesus Christ...."  Jesus has always been Satan's problem.  He tried, through Herod, to kill Jesus at birth.  He thought the death on the Cross was the end of Jesus.  On the contrary, "....He always lives ever to make intercession for us."

Always!  "Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead...."

Father, in Jesus' Name, I "remember."  Amen.

"....HOW OFTEN...."

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem....How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks...."  (Matthew 23)

This is the strongest rebuke of religious Judaism in the Gospels.  What I notice, however, every time I read Matthew 23 is the way His "Word" ends.  Jesus, the Good Shepherd, weeps over the hypocrisy, the disobedience of His People.  He did this so often in the Old Covenant Prophets.

You have probably heard the statement many times that "God hates sin but loves the sinner."  We see this in Matthew 23.  And, I can say that I see this in my walk with Him over the years.  I have, "....sinned and fallen short of the glory of God", but many times I have heard, "O Woody, Woody, How often...."  Repentance, yes, obedience yes, but even in the failures there will be from our King and Savior, Jesus Christ, "....How often...."

Father, in Jesus' Name, I press on in You.  Amen.
