DELIVERANCE FROM WHAT?

"Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age...."  (Galations 1:3, 4ab)

Yes, Jesus delivers us from sin.  But can you see with me today that the deliverance in the Blood of Jesus Christ is, "....from this present evil age," this present evil culture, this present world system, the life style of the humanist, aka, rebels against the Reign of King Jesus?  And, this is all, as the rest of the text says, "....according to the will of our God and Father...."

Father, in Jesus' Name, help me to walk in deliverance, "....from this present evil age...."  Amen.

"....THINGS I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT...."

"You asked, 'Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?'  It is I-- and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me....Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes."  (Job 42:3 (NLT) & 6 (NKJV)

This is the attitude of those Who our King Jesus Christ calls, "the pure in heart."  This, even though God said that Job had, "....spoken of Me what is right."  

Job in his repentance seems to include whatever "right" which he spoke.  Even our "right" is as nothing in the Presence of the Living Triune God.  Compared to the majesty of the Reigning King of the Universe, "I was talking about things I knew nothing about....." 

This is the attitude I wish to have throughout the rest of my sojourn here on Planet Earth.  You know, it really is not so difficult to walk in such repentance when one considers Jesus Christ, Who He Is, What He does, His going, "to prepare a place for [us]," His upholding the universe, "by the Word of His Power."

Father, in Jesus' Name, when I think of my life lived in times of self-will, I say with Job, "Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes."  Amen.

Hebrews 12:2

THE ONLY WATER WHICH SATISFIES

"Jesus answered and said to her, 'Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst.'"  (John 4:13, 14a)

Thirsting for more is a human dilemma.  In fact, our thirst is unquenchable.  You and I were created to "thirst for" the Living Triune God, just as He thirsts for us.  If we are not continually, "....drink[ing] of..," our Indwelling King and Savior Jesus Christ, what we, "....drink of...," will just keep us dehydrated.

Earlier Jesus said, "If you knew the gift of God...."  Well, you and I claim to know, "....the Gift of God...."  Are we daily drinking of Him, "....a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life"?

Father, in Jesus' Name, May You be my "Ever-Drink."  Amen.
