"MY SOUL, WAIT IN SILENCE FOR GOD ALONE"

"My soul waits in silence for God alone; from Him comes my salvation....My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my hope is from Him."  (Psalm 62:1 & 5, NASB)

First, David declares of his soul, then he commands his soul, "My soul waits in silence for God..., My soul, wait in silence for God alone."

Does, "My soul wait in silence for God alone"?  How much silence is in any of our souls.  When I shared this with Sarah, she said that is so difficult because our minds are always "going."  They are.

Jesus tells us that in Him, "....you shall find rest for your souls...."  What a glorious promise to a restless, noisy world.  Command with me our souls today, "My soul," do this: "wait in silence-------- for God alone...."

Father, in Jesus' Name, teach me this.  Amen.

"YOU SHALL NOT ADD TO THE WORD...."

"You shall not add to the Word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you."  (Deuteronomy 4:2)

"....add to," and, "....take from..," is the greatest danger facing the Church today.

Jesus Christ is, "The Word of God," and His Words alone are, "the Words of God."  Every Word of God is in Jesus Christ, from Jesus Christ and to Jesus Christ.  This, my friend, and this alone, is how we, "try the spirits", and sermons, and worship, prayer, missions, etc.

If we want to know what God is "doing in the earth" in these days, don't, "....add to the Word," or, "....take from...The Word...."  Embrace, "The Word...."

Father, in Jesus' Name, convict me of any "add to" and "take from."  Amen.

PSALM 46 DAY

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."  (Psalm 46:2, KJV))

There you have it.  Whatever our, "very present" circumstances, our Lord Jesus Christ is our, ".... very present help."

The Hebrew Word for, "very," is sometimes translated, "abundantly, exceedingly, greatly," even, "violently."  And, "present," is mostly translated, "find, found."  Could it be related to, "You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart"?

I once heard a Bible teacher say that the literal translation of, "I will never leave you nor forsake you," is, "I will never, no, never, ever leave you...."  Hence, the powerful language in our text is to let you and me know just how, "....very present..," and, "....no, never leave you..," is our Living Triune God in Jesus Christ.  "Present," means right now.  "Present," means eternal.  "Present," is Jesus Christ, the Ever-Present One in me, in you, "....yesterday, today, and forever."

Father, in Jesus' Name, Your, "present," is my life.  Amen.
