What The Creeds Left Out

"....For Your Father knows that you need all these things,  But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."  (Jesus)

The Word translated, "first," means, "before, at the beginning."  Jesus' and John the Baptist's first public Words are, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." Or, can we say, "Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven..," not, "for your blessings."

In a recent "Plumbline" article from Bob Mumford, he writes that "none of the great creeds of the Church mention the Kingdom of God as a major theme of the Gospel.  Jesus' admonition was to put His Kingdom first and let everything else be added."  This says so much of the Church, especially of the last 55 years.

I pray that you and I do what Jesus commands us to do, and not what alloyed Church History has proclaimed and demonstrated.

Father, in Jesus' Name, I really pray that I may more fully understand and live, "Seek before," Your Kingdom.  Amen.

Another "Revealing" Word

"....for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure."

A Prophetic Word--- For NOW

"For whoever has [spiritual wisdom because he is receptive to God's Word], to him more will be given, and he will be richly and abundantly supplied; but whoever does not have [spiritual wisdom because he has devalued God's Word], even what he has will be taken away from him.  This is the reason I speak to the crowds in parables: because while [having the power of] seeing they do not see, and while [having the power of] hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand and grasp [spiritual things]."   (Matthew 13:12, 13, Amplified Bible)

I have been believing, saying, and writing over the past year that not only the Church, but also the nations are in a period of transition, one of historic proportion.  I have no doubt that the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ is, can one say, "shifting gears?"  2020 is a confirmation that transition is upon us.  Only those who pay heed to our text will be able to navigate the "waters" ahead.

Bob Mumford recently wrote, "The all-inclusive nature of God's redemptive purposes may be transformed into something so different, it may become almost unrecognizable.  We are possibly being extracted from all that "Christianity" currently is as an institutional religion.  Will we embrace a manifestation of The Kingdom of God that is more organic and relational?  Will we embrace a Kingdom that more adequately expresses Father's purposes in the earth?"

Father, in Jesus' Name, I so desire to "embrace" You and Your Kingdom.  Amen.

"Rise cup, O God!"

"They do not know, nor do they understand; they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are unstable....Rise up, O God!  Judge the earth, because you hold all nations in Your possession."  (Psalm 82)
