ARE YOU CLOTHED?

"For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ." 

Well, here is a wonderful "picture" for us, the reality of our very personal relationship in Jesus Christ:  We, "....have clothed [our]selves with Christ."

Father, in Jesus' Name, thank You for my "covering."  Amen.

"Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to Whom be glory forever and ever.  Amen."  (Galatians 1:3, 4)

This is Jesus Christ's definition of love, "....Who gave Himself..."

"I love you," means nothing if it is not followed by, "I give myself for you."

"FOR HE WROTE ABOUT ME"

"For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me."  (John 5:46)

You know as well as I that there are large passages of Scripture which leave us wondering, "What's it all about?"  Yet, along with our text, our Lord Jesus tells us in John 5:39, "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me."  Every time I read any Scripture, I keep this in mind.

The Bible tells us that, "All Scripture is God-Breathed."  This means all of the Law, the wars/killings, judgments, as well as the passages we "like."  But all of those passages we don't understand, which may even be repulsive to us, are about Jesus Christ, His Person, His Redemptive Work in His Precious Blood on the Cross of Calvary.  

May you and I walk in this glorious reality today:  "But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you" (John 14:26).    

Father, in Jesus' Name, I receive this glorious promise.  Amen.

"....A SPRING OF WATER WELLING UP...."

"Jesus answered and said to her, 'Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.'"  (John 4:13, 14)

Endless searching, endless need:  This is humanity.

The woman here was in such a case, until, that is, she met Jesus.  You know the rest of the story.  Many in the town, because she drank from, "....the water that I will give..," surrendered their lives to Jesus.

This, "....water that I will give..," viz., Jesus' very presence in us, is our continual drink.  We don't have to wait for some special manifestation of His "presence," some great meeting.  Jesus Christ Himself is our Ever-Present, "....spring of water welling up to eternal life."

Father, in Jesus' Name, thank You so much for bringing me to the Perpetual Fountain.  Amen.
