Of Mockers and Fools and Wisdom and Knowledge and Discerning

"The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge comes easily to the discerning.  Stay away from a fool for you will not find knowledge on their lips.  The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception."  (Prov. 14:6-8, NIV)

I read something by, "a fool," on the Internet which declared that "the mouth of God is the mind of man....Thinking creates reality, but thinking as we all know it, is the process of asking and answering...in your head."  This is classic philosophy of fools.  They are as the Pharisee, who, "stood and prayed...with himself."

The antithesis of this is praying, "by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD," i.e., "The Word of God," who said, "came forth from the Father," and in the Holy Spirit, "even the Spirit of truth which proceeds from the Father."  When my life is so lived, my communion and walk with and in the Blessed Trinity won't be "asking and answering...in your head."  I will pray that which, "came forth from the Father," and that, "which proceeds from the Father."

Beware, "the mocker," today.  He may seem "intelligent," articulate, and appealing.  Our text declares, however, that he is nothing but, "a fool," and, "the folly of fools is deception."  Stay, "abide," live in Father today, in Jesus Christ today, in the Holy Spirit today, "everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD [Jesus Christ]," and the fool's deception will not overtake you.  Later in Prov. 14 we read, "The faithless will be fully repaid for their ways, and the good rewarded for theirs."  Surely, your reward is at hand.

Father, in Jesus' Name, thank You for the Manna from Heaven.  Amen.

Are You Sowing What You Are Breathing?

"Therefore hear the parable of the sower...." (The Gospel Reading--Matthew 13:18)

Jesus says, "....he who received the seed...is he who hears the word of the kingdom...."  Or, "....the seed...is...the word of the kingdom...."  I say that wherever we, "sow the word of the kingdom," we pray, "the word of the kingdom."  For the seed/word to bring forth fruit, I must pray the seed/word.  Too many disciples go out to, "sow the word," without praying that, "word."  Much of what is then sown is parochial, not, "the word of the kingdom."

Someone once asked me, "If I have only a few moments to 'get with God,' which should I do, read the Bible or pray?  I said, "Both."  There is an old song which has the line, "like breathing out and breathing in."  If you do not breath out, you cannot breath in; likewise, if you don't breath in, you can't breath out.  I say reading the Bible is "breathing in;" prayer is "breathing out."  How can we breath out if we don't breath in?!?  People who just give themselves to one or the other will die.  Jesus said, "'As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.'  And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said, 'Receive the Holy Spirit."  "Breathe" in the Holy Spirit and, "the words of God," today.  Then "breathe" out your prayers, petitions, intercessions, declarations-----------------  What is then sown can only be God.

Father, in Jesus' Name, I breathe in, "the word of the Kingdom."  I pray that is what I breathe out.  Amen.

"Expulsion of Jews From Jerusalem"

U.S. Archives Photo History of Expulsion of Jews from Jerusalem

Follow Israel news on Twitter and Facebook.

Every now and then, a treasure is unearthed not by archaeologists digging in the ground, but by historians and others seeking information among the stacks of books in a library.

Writer and analyst Lenny Ben David was doing exactly that when he came across a massive Library of Congress photo archive of life in Palestine, circa early 1900s. Prior to its rebirth as a commonwealth, the lands of the State of Israel were all referred to as Palestine by the British.
Ben David, a former diplomat and lobbyist, writes on his blog, "As I skimmed through the pictures, one theme caught my eye – the expulsion of Jews from Jerusalem. Time and again."

Works of art that depict the Roman destruction of the Holy Temple and the Jewish people being led from Jerusalem into captivity in 70 CE are not uncommon.
But Ben David saw that the Library of Congress had carefully archived photos of Jews being evacuated during Arab pogroms in 1929 – the same year the Jews of Hevron were massacred – and in 1936.

The archive also contains photos by Life Magazine photographer John Phillips, who in 1948 managed to catch on film the horror and tragedy of Jews once more being captured or expelled from their homes in the Old Jerusalem's Jewish Quarter by Jordanian soldiers.

"Too many times," writes Ben David. "It led me to post a photo essay: The Jewish People Will Not Be Expelled from Jerusalem Again."

In the essay, he made sure to include shots of the Jews' expulsion from Jerusalem in 1929, 1936 and 1948 – to remind, and to ensure that it can never happen again.

"Heaven Rules" (Delay Today Caused by Server Problems)

"....until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom." (Daniel 7:22)

12th day in the new quarter, and 12 days in Daniel.  A couple of things I have noticed over the years, but each time through there is a "new" something about them.  First, there is the continual affirmation of, as Revelation states it, "the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ."  For example, "And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed....Behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven!... Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him.  His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed."  Later Jesus says to Daniel, "But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever."  In Jesus Christ, everything is, "forever, even forever and ever."

Second, in a prophecy given to Nebuchadezzar, the Living Triune God affirms that He gives stewardship of kingdoms to those who obey Him.  In chapter 4, the NASB says, "....your kingdom shall be assured to you, after you come to know that Heaven rules."  There are kingdoms many throughout history, but none have survived which did not submit to, "Heaven rules."  This is true with nations and men.  The United States of America is increasingly becoming a second rate power in the minds of much of the world.  From the White House, Congress, Supreme Court down to the local township supervisors, we have people who still will not acknowledge that, "Heaven rules."  Get this one declaration of the "God-Breathed" Word working in us, and who knows, maybe even something like revival just might invade us.

Father, in Jesus' Name, even though my life at times does not affirm it, I am thankful that Your Kingdom, Your, "Heaven rules."

I Received a "Prophetic Word" Today

"So Abram said to Lot, 'Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren.  Is not the whole land before you?  Please separate from me.  If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left.'" (Genesis 13:8, 9)

This time in Genesis I saw something in this passage which is currently going on in Israel and in the so-called "Quartet," the historic ad hoc group consisting of The USA, Russia, the European Union, and the United Nations.  It is presumptuous, man attempting to "make right" what he perceives to be the wrongs, the injustices in the world.

Like so many today, Abraham seems to be very magnanimous in our text.  He is dividing the Land with Lot and giving Lot what seems to be the best of the deal.  To any "moral" observer, this seems perfectly right and just.  Enter the Lord God of the Universe:
"Abram, this land is yours and I gave it to your descendants who are to come, those of Isaac, and Jacob.  You have no right to divide this Land.   This is My Land and I have a purpose for it.  You do not have the right, nor does anyone else to determine what is fair, what is just, what is moral.  I decide that.  Your morality is not My morality.  Later generations will judge Me and My Word as cruel, prejudiced, exclusionary, and, as a result, will develop gods and religions which suit their world view and perceptions of morality, goodness.  Many who call themselves "the people of God" will also do this, though they will do this secretly so as to be included in their particular religious groups.  If you are going to walk with Me, you had better accept, as I will later declare through one of My prophets,
'I am God, and there is no other; I am God and there is            none like Me.'
Understand this Reality, walk in this Reality, and you will walk in  righteousness, power, and victory."

All the teaching of Jesus confirms this "word."  This word which, if I may so say, was a prophetic "word" spoken to me as I considered our text, is to me so alive and at work this very moment, right in the Capitol of the United States of America, The EU, Russia, the United Nations, and the entire global Gentile world.  In the last battle of Planet Earth, King Jesus will emerge victorious over all, confirming and affirming His Eternal Words.  Those who have walked in obedience to Jesus and His Words will also emerge in Him, some from great suffering and rejection, to Eternal Victory.

Father, in Jesus' Name, I thank You for still speaking, still confirming Your Words.  Amen.
