"....until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom." (Daniel 7:22)
12th day in the new quarter, and 12 days in Daniel. A couple of things I have noticed over the years, but each time through there is a "new" something about them. First, there is the continual affirmation of, as Revelation states it, "the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ." For example, "And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed....Behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven!... Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed." Later Jesus says to Daniel, "But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever." In Jesus Christ, everything is, "forever, even forever and ever."
Second, in a prophecy given to Nebuchadezzar, the Living Triune God affirms that He gives stewardship of kingdoms to those who obey Him. In chapter 4, the NASB says, "....your kingdom shall be assured to you, after you come to know that Heaven rules." There are kingdoms many throughout history, but none have survived which did not submit to, "Heaven rules." This is true with nations and men. The United States of America is increasingly becoming a second rate power in the minds of much of the world. From the White House, Congress, Supreme Court down to the local township supervisors, we have people who still will not acknowledge that, "Heaven rules." Get this one declaration of the "God-Breathed" Word working in us, and who knows, maybe even something like revival just might invade us.
Father, in Jesus' Name, even though my life at times does not affirm it, I am thankful that Your Kingdom, Your, "Heaven rules."
