SORRY! CORRECTION ADDED

"Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands."  (Psalm 102:25)

I also used today's text for the PSALM NUGGET.  What needs to be added, however, is the "fulfillment" of our text found in Hebrews 1:10, referring to Jesus, "And: 'You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands."

No wonder Paul says, "....We preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness...."  Indeed, the whole of the message concerning Jesus Christ is, "....a stumbling block...and foolishness.., to the unbelieving, "....but to us who are being saved it is the Power of God."  What foolishness!---- to declare that a 5'7", 155 pound, Middle Eastern Jew, "the carpenter's son," should be the fulfillment of, "....You laid the foundation of the earth...."

Ah, but to me, "....it is the power of God."

Father, in Jesus' Name, I pray for any who are church-goers who secretly think that this is "foolishness."  Amen.

When Peter, an 18 year old Norwegian, "heard the call to evangelize China, on that day he not only emptied his wallet into the collection plate, but included a small note with the words, 'and my life.'"

PSALM NUGGET

"My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to Your Word."  (Psalm 119:28)

"WHEN...ANXIOUS THOUGHTS MULTIPLY...."

"When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your comfort delights my soul."  (Psalm 94:19, NASB)

"Anxious thoughts multiply," in today's culture, not only in the US, but throughout the earth.  The ever-increasing drugs available for anxiety prove this.

The Living Triune God gives us not only, "comfort," but the very Comforter Himself, The Person of the Holy Spirit.  This is Jesus Christ assuring us of His Unspeakable, "Very Present," Comfort.

"And I will pray the Father and He will give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever."  This should help you sleep at nights.

Father, in Jesus' Name, I can never thank You enough for Your Comforter. Amen.

PSALM NUGGET

"Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God."  (Psalm 90:2)

When Peter, an 18 year old Norwegian, "heard the call to evangelize China, on that day he not only emptied his wallet into the collection plate, but included a small note with the words, 'and my life.'"
Hebrews 12:2

THIS MAY SHOCK SOME

"And he made the breastplate, artistically woven like the workmanship of the ephod, of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and of fine woven linen."  (Exodus 39:8)

Most looking for a "daily devotional" would read our text and say, "So what?"

Let me be as clear as I can.  There is just as much healing, delivering, saving power in Exodus 39:8 as there is in Psalm 23 and John 3:16.  The one, most don't understand; the other, everybody would claim to understand.  The former is probably not underlined, that latter probably are.

We are commanded in the Scriptures to, "get wisdom...and get understanding...."  But the, "The Word of God," Jesus Christ, and His, "God-Breathed," Words work in us more than wisdom and understanding.  Psalm 119:28 declares, "My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to Your Word"--------------- EVEN EXODUS 39:8.

Father, in Jesus' Name, thank You so much for writing this in my heart.  Amen.

Hebrews 12:2

"TO THE UNKNOWN GOD"

"....For as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription:
 'TO THE UNKNOWN GOD'
Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you." (Acts 17:23)

A few shepherds were the first to discover Jesus as a babe in a barn.  Jesus then grew up in a carpenter's home.  Later, as a young man, He declared Himself to be the One about Whom Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms wrote.  At one point, this "Thirty-Someone" declared, "I and My Father are One....He who has seen me has seen the Father."  The intent of all of this was/is, to make, "....THE UNKNOWN GOD," THE KNOWN GOD.

"TO THE UNKNOWN GOD," is the scary, lonely life style of most on the Planet.  For you and me, however, "The Eternal One," is now "and ever shall be, world without end," Jesus ChristTHE KNOWN GOD, with us and in us.

Father, in Jesus' Name, please help me to make, "the unknown" You, the KNOWN You.  Amen.

PSALM NUGGET

"Your path led through the sea, Your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen."  (Psalm 77:19, NIV)

When Peter, an 18 year old Norwegian, "heard the call to evangelize China, on that day he not only emptied his wallet into the collection plate, but included a small note with the words, 'and my life.'"
Hebrews 12:2

WHAT IS THE "EFFECT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS?

"The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever."  (Isaiah 32:17, NIV)

If I have been made righteous in the Righteousness of Jesus Christ, which is what the Bible tells me, then there, "....will be...peace."  And if, as the Bible says, "Jesus...is our peace," then the effect of peace in Jesus Christ will be marked by, "quietness and confidence forever."

Now, if we think we are not experiencing this, let's agree to reject "experience," and believe His Words.

Father, in Jesus' Name, I thank You for, "its effect...."  Amen.

NO HIT AND RUN RELATIONSHIP

"But He did not answer her with even a word.  And His disciples came up and urged Him, saying, 'Send her away, because she keeps shouting behind us.'"  (Matthew 15:23, NASB)

I believe the reason Jesus responded to the woman this way was to bring out, encourage and commend what is true faith.

You may recall that after Jesus seemed to be treating her rudely, and she kept pressing Him "in prayer," He finally said to her, "O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you desire."  Maybe sometimes the reason for "delayed answers" is that Jesus wants fellowship with us, and not a "hit and run" relationship.

Father, in Jesus' Name, thank You for always wanting fellowship with me.  Amen.
