SO YOU WANT GOD'S, "APPROVAL?" (PSALM NUGGET BELOW)

"For by it (faith) the people of old gained approval."  (Hebrews 11:2, NASB)

It seems to me that the Holy Spirit is saying, "....the people of old..," were living examples of what verse one states.  

They walked manifesting the, "certainty," and, "proof," that  the Word of God is our foundation, that faith is not mental comprehension, but rather an acceptance of the fact that Jesus Christ is King, His Words are The Word, and all creation is called to walk in absolute trust in Jesus and His Words.

Verse 8 tells us, "By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed...not knowing where he was going."  So, if I want to, "gain[] approval," of the Godhead, I will so walk.

Father, in Jesus' Name, there is none other approval I desire than Yours.  Amen.

AM I GOING OUT "ON A LIMB?"

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."  (Hebrews 11:1)

The Interlinear Bible says that the Word for, "substance," is, "a giving substance to, a guaranteeing, the reality."  It also says that the Word for, "evidence," is, "proof."  Any Greek scholars may comment.

Now in light of the above, some may ask, "How do I know that God exits?"  Based on our text, a very short answer is, "Because I said so." 

I see in Hebrews 11:1, that the faith and life in Jesus' Church is the only "proof" anyone will ever have that Jesus Christ, "The Word of God," and His Words of the Bible, is Truth.  The search for "proof" has ended.

Father, in Jesus' Name, help me not to back away from Your Words which say, "You are the light of the world," and, "You are the salt of the earth."  Amen.

WHAT WAS THERE BEFORE THE BEGINNING?

"....and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away."  (Revelation 21:4 (NASB)

As I read Revelation again, the thought occurred to me once more that I can understand there being no end, viz., "....there will be no longer...."  What I cannot fathom is no beginning

Post Darwin scientists talk of the universe being "billions and billions" of years old; okay.  I say pick a number, 13.5  billion, 100 billion, whatever.  Once they agree on a number for the "big bang," what was here before that?  

Someone once quoted John 1:1 as, "Before the beginning began, the Word already was."  That was another way of attempting to "explain" the Eternal One.  

I do not understand, but I do accept that, "In the beginning (even before, "the beginning") was the Word," Jesus Christ.  And, the moment one surrenders his/her life to Jesus we step into that Eternal "dimension" of, "before the beginning," and, "there shall no longer be...."

Father, in Jesus' Name, I confess that my mind cannot fathom Your Words, but I do accept Your, "God-Breathed,"  Words.
