"A MAN," AND, "A MAN"

"For since by a man death came, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead."  (1 Corinthians 15:21)

The concept is the same as in yesterday's devotional, the contrast between two men, "a man," and, "by a man also...."

This is Salvation Theology.  Death came upon the whole human race because of Adam and Eve's "dna."  In Jesus Christ we receive a new DNA, and in it/Him, "....came also the resurrection of the dead."  

Father, in Jesus' Name, I so thank You for deliverance from the "dead man."  Amen.

When Peter, an 18 year old Norwegian, "heard the call to evangelize China, on that day he not only emptied his wallet into the collection plate, but included a small note with the words, 'and my life.'"

Hebrews 12:2

"ONE ACT....."

"So then, as through one offense the result was condemnation to all mankind, so also through one act of righteousness the result was justification of life to all mankind." (Romans 5:18, NASB)

Everyone should stop trying to get God to love them more.  Jesus', "....One act of righteousness..," took care of all the sin, judgment, and condemnation, which came upon us by being born as sons and daughters of Adam.

I read this passage at least four time per year; it never ceases to bless me.  All of the good deeds, praying, Bible reading, gifts, etc., which we may possess and with which we attempt to gain favor, acceptance, approval, forgiveness, or whatever, with God was, "It is finished," in that, "one act of righteousness."

As the great Christmas Carol declares, All of, "the hopes and fears of all the years are met in Thee tonight"-------- in, "One act," yes, "One...."

Father, in Jesus' Name, thank You that,

"He died that we might be forgiven,

He died to make us good,

That we might from our sins be freed,

Saved by His precious blood.

"There was no other good enough

To pay the price of sin,

He only could divine life give

And dwell Himself within." Amen.
