"....THE THEME OF MY SONGS...."

"Your statues (Words) have been my songs in the house of  my pilgrimage." (Psalm 119:54)  

"Your decrees (Words) have been the theme of my songs wherever I have lived." (NLT )

Personally, there are just no greater, "songs," and, "theme."

A "FRIEND" TURNED ACCUSER"

"Is it because of your fear of Him that He corrects you, and enters into judgment with you?"  (Job 22:4)

I read Job 22 today and was appalled at what one of Job's friend's said to him.  Our text is one example.

It is sad that Eliphaz was considered one of Job's friends.  Yet as you read Job 22 you see that he said some of the worst utterances against Job in the entire Book.  He apparently did not know the Lord God's affirmation of Job, "....there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and turns away from evil."  

The pathetic conclusion of Eliphaz and the other three "theologians" is that they thought as most think today: If bad things happen to you, you must be bad.  Maybe our King Jesus', "Judge not lest..," applies here. 

Father, in Jesus' Name, I pray You convict me if I ever speak against, "a blameless and upright man...."  Amen.

"....BE...CLEARHEADED SO YOU CAN PRAY"

"The end of everything has come.  Therefore, be self-controlled and clearheaded so you can pray."  (1 Peter 4:7, CEB)

Our text said to me today that if I am going to pray as I ought, I need to control my self, as in the "old" self?  That self is many times at war with the new self in Jesus Christ.  If anyone doubts this, just read the Bible.  It is full of such theology.

The Church needs to literally clear our heads of all which would be out of submission to Our Father, in Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit------"....so you can pray."

Father, in Jesus' Name, O, for grace to be, "self-controlled and clearheaded...."  Amen.
