October 3: A Prayer for the Day of Prayer For the Peace of Jerusalem

First, a caution-- I am somewhat concerned about the commercialization of the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem.  FHMP is a "-faith" missions, and we have no regular salary.  We do ask for investment in our work from time to time, and this is fine for such "works."  There is a fine line, however, between those who solicit legitimate support and out right personal kingdom building.  Beware!

I saw several statements today on the BBC Website which are good descriptions of the present "state of war" in Jerusalem:
    1. "House-by-house struggle for East Jerusalem"
    2. "No piece of ground on the planet is more contested than Jerusalem"
    3. "Sometimes you can see just why it is so difficult to make peace in
        Jerusalem"
Here is my prayer for Jerusalem:  "Father, in Jesus' Name, I pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May only they prosper who love Jerusalem with a pure heart and recognize that Jerusalem is, 'the city of the Great King.'  Hasten the day when millions will recognize Jerusalem as, 'the city of the Great King,' Jesus, the Christ."

Regardless of some who would take advantage of this concerted prayer effort for personal gain, I encourage you to participate.  Focused, unified prayer is powerful.

"My King...My...Zion"

"Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion." (Psalm 2:6)

The last quarter of 2010 and back to the beginning of the "God-Breathed" Word.  God will now repeat Himself to me.  I have been accused of repeating myself quite a lot over the years, but I'm in good company.  The Word of God has been repeating Himself for 2000 years.  Blessed Repetition; blessed Word of Life; blessed, "Daily Bread."

Our text today is found in the Second Psalm where the Blessed Trinity addresses, "The kings of the earth...and the rulers," who have been plotting against King Jesus ever since the Fall.  How utterly stupid.  How vain to fight The Eternal One, Who is, "from everlasting to everlasting... God."  Alas, all who fight against the King, all who plot, all who practice deception, all who work covertly or overtly to overthrow the King and establish their own little fiefdoms have heard and shall hear nothing but laughter from the Throne, "He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The LORD shall hold them in derision," literally, "by implication (as if imitating a foreigner) to speak unintelligibly."  Rebellion and resistance to King Jesus is the most, "vain thing," ever attempted by man.  A person in such a state cannot understand the things of the Ever-Present One.  His Word will be foreign, unintelligible, not because God does not desire their fellowship, but because of setting their "king" on their "hill."

But, my dear fellow disciple of Jesus Christ, I am convinced you are not of such.  You are of those who, "kiss the Son," embrace the Son, and submit to the Son.  Root words infer, "join" Jesus, "fasten upon" Jesus, "catch fire with" Jesus.  To those who "trust in, rely upon, cling to" and obey, King Jesus, His Word is not unintelligible because, as He has said to us of His Spirit, "But you know Him for He dwells with you and...in you."  The, "kings of the earth...and the rulers," the presidents, Prime Ministers, Parliaments, and Congresses, or any church hierarchy who prioritize anything ahead of, "the Son," Who is Father's, "King [set] on My holy hill of Zion," will be objects of nothing but derision and annihilation.  You and I, however, will hear, "Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world...."

Father, in Jesus' Name, such grace and mercy that I should be grafted into the King.  Amen.

Subject: The Meetings

Dear Friends,

There are times when you experience so many things, and so much is going on that putting everything in words is hard.
The period of  praying for people's needs events, where one of those times.
We prepared in prayer and fasting for it.
We where expecting some help from church in Shkoder, (a couple of guys) with worship. But things happen all of a sudden that team from outside grow to 10 adults (and a bunch of Kids) including Gary and Sandy Blake that came from Tirana. My cousin Ita came from Vienna, Austria, to help as well.  I was wondering what God had in mind.
Distributing 3000 in and more invitations in the streets gave opportunity to meet new people. It was not an easy thing. Much opposition faced at times, but we expected that. We felt always the spiritual warfare going on.

Preparation meetings, events itself, invitation hand outs, where all a great example of team work. Everybody did his part.
In countries like Kosovo, the strongholds of darkness are so heavy and seem at times unbending no matter what you do . But we did witnessed a change.

One thing is that here, you don't have people showing to church meetings, unless they are someone you know personally (you have invited) or that you have been sharing Jesus before hand with him. People would feel shame if others see them entering our building.
Well, about 45 people we don't know at all, showed up for the meetings both nights. People with physical needs, and others. We had a number suffering from depression and one man suffering from schizophrenia. Others had problems with fear, paranoia, nightmares etc...

God's presence was so thick in these times, releasing much grace, and gifts. He gave insights, words of knowledge, and other manifestations of the Holy Spirit. Over all we wanted people to know the love Jesus has for them, and I believe many experienced that for the first time. Many had tears, two decided to become Jesus' followers.  I have never seen so many "on the spot" changes as we prayed for these people.

On the next Sunday we had two sisters who came to the worship service They had not been in the meetings , but their sister in law had send them after the drastic change she had experienced with her health. We prayed for them. One of the women suffered as well  from depression. God showed us she used amulets, and had been to witch doctors. We asked her about that, she said yes. We explained how she needed to trust her life to Jesus only, and get rid from all these things. She said she would do that, clean her house from all the amulets and stuff like that. She had been going to the witch doctor paying 100 Euro per session. Had two more sessions to go. but had run our of money.  Good news she learned was she did not have to ever go back there.
Kela met her in the street latter, next day. She was so happy. She said I never slept like last night, I had such peace. I was also amazed how I did have peace when my husband started to shout about something. He is always an angry man, and that is part of my depression problem. But I was amazed at myself at the change. I had peace. His anger did not reach me...

Vedad, suffering from schizophrenia showed up on Sunday as well, and was last to leave the church. He said he was much better, he feels so good in the church. Took a new testament and all the time had a big smile like a big baby...

There are many other episodes I would like to share but it would be a long book...

We believe this is the beginning of a new stage in spiritual breakthrough for the city of Gjilan.

Please pray, also for us. We have been exhausted. On top of the spiritual intensity we had up to 16 people at our house.. for a period of 12 days

Please pray for financial provision as well. We are a happy empty pockets family right now Smile emoticon

Blessings
Gregor

"Praise the LORD!--Praise God--Praise Him

"Praise the LORD!  Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty firmament!" (Psalm 150:1)

It is fitting that I finish the Book of Psalms today along with the Book of Revelation, the New Testament "Book of Psalms."  There was a, "Praise Him!," before the worlds were made, and there will be, "Praise Him!," when there is, "a new heaven and a new earth."  O, earth, "Praise Him!"

I still have my horn, and over the years I have noticed an interesting phenomenon.  After playing it for a short time, I always then begin to pray in tongues, praying in my spirit energized by the Holy Spirit.  When I first noticed that, it was quite curious.  Then I remember thinking, Why not?  After all the last psalm of the Great Book of Psalms exhorts, "Praise him with the sound of the trumpet, lute, harp, timbrel, dance, stringed instruments and flutes, loud cymbals, clashing cymbals."  It is as though the horn ignites praise, quite Biblical, I might add.  I do not play the horn very much any more, and you may not play an instrument, but no matter.  Just, "Praise Him!"

The Book of Psalms ends with the word, "Praise," mentioned 13 times in 6 verses.  For the Follower of Jesus Christ, life will also end in, "praise."  Until then, when we enter, "the age to come," Father, I pray, in Jesus' Name,

     "Finish then thy new creation;
     pure and spotless let us be;
let us see thy great salvation
     perfectly restored in thee:
     changed from glory into glory,
till in heaven we take our place,
till we cast our crowns before thee,
lost in wonder, love, and 'praise.'"  Amen.

The Great Biblical Declaration to Humanity

"Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom ('a kingdom of all ages'), and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations." (Psalm 145:13, KJV)

Thomas Edison was once asked "what inspired his inventions."  He replied, "I find out what the world needs...then I proceed to invent it."  Jesus Christ has never had to "invent" anything, because He has always been "one step ahead of" mankind--- his troubles, his arrogance, his needs.

Many times when we pray, it is as though we think our life caught God off guard, as though our condition needs some new "invention" to help us.  Everything in the Bible, however, declares just the opposite.  The Blessed Trinity has a very wide range of "awareness."  He not only knows when the sparrow falls, He rules among men and nations.  Though it may not seem so to the unregenerate eye, neither our lives nor the world itself is ever out of control.  There may have been and still are various currents, backwashes and eddies of human history, but never has the "river" of history been without the "Banks" of God's purposes.

---- And neither have you nor I.  As Followers of Jesus Christ, we are citizens of the only kingdom of which it can be declared, "a kingdom of all ages."  No Lover of Jesus ever had reason to despair over his future, or about the government that had the rule over him, because over that future and that government has been always the great "Bank" of history, the, "Everlasting Kingdom," of Christ.

It is sadly amusing that the most horrific, genocidal "kingdom" ever to rule on earth, boasted that it would last a thousand years.  It lasted twelve.  And though the great world kingdoms, from the Babylonian Kingdom to the "kingdom" of the United States of America today, have impressed man with their might and extensive power, the only trace of the one which historians say did last a thousand years, is broken, crumbled ruins.

Look around you today.  According to the "God-Breathed" Word, everything you now see is temporary, your body, clothes, your house, your country, even that suffering.  Yet we rejoice because, "We do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.  For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal."  Hence, today, the choice is really quite simple, isn't it?  Despair over the things of the decaying kingdoms which, "are seen," or rejoice over the things which are of the, "everlasting kingdom, which "are unseen."

Father, in Jesus' Name, I pray for conversion of my choices today.  Amen.

"I...Will Manifest My Holiness in Them in the Sight of the Nations"

"Thus says the Lord GOD, 'When I gather the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and will manifest My holiness in them in the sight of nations, then they will live in their land which I gave to My servant Jacob.'" (Ezekiel 228:25, NASB)

Throughout history, religious people have limited holiness to an outward religious show, e.g., measured dress lengths, regular church attendance, abstinence from tobacco, alcohol, swearing, etc.  This is not, "manifest My holiness;" in most cases this is manifest their holiness.  Stated succinctly, holiness is total, uncompromising obedience to Jesus Christ, "The Word of God," revealed solely in, "the Words of God," the Bible.

Our text reveals that, "My holiness," is manifested in God's will, His purposes, His economy of the Kingdom.  To paraphrase our text, "I...will manifest My holiness (when you see the Jews) in their land which I gave to My servant Jacob."  We can say that God's Holiness is manifested in the fulfillment of His Prophetic Word.  The whole of the Bible is a manifestation of this, "My holiness," and if the Church desires to manifest, "My holiness," Her life must manifest God's design and purpose for men and nations, politically, socially----- in all things.

Two articles @: www.apf327.blogspot.com   will help illustrate our text.  And I encourage you today to join me in the pursuit of Biblical Holiness, not some kind of holiness which brings glory to our "spirituality," our, we-are-better-than-others, but rather, "the holiness, without which no one will see the Lord."  Watch, read, listen to the news, and each day you will see more and more of, "I will manifest My holiness in them in the sight of the nations."

Father, in Jesus' Name, I pray for grace and strength to, "manifest [Your] holiness."  Amen.

The Gift Who Keeps On Giving

"It is vain for you to rise up early, to retire late, to eat the bread of painful labors; for He gives to His beloved even in his sleep."
(Psalm 127:2, NASB)

Most translations say, "for so He gives His beloved sleep," for which I am deeply grateful.  But the NASB gives an interesting translation which is consistent with Biblical Theology, "For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep."  The, "Beloved," of our Lord Jesus Christ live in a constant state of union with and in Our Beloved Lord Jesus Christ, Who, according to the "God-Breathed" Word says will never leave or forsake us.  He is the Ever-abiding One.

So as you go to bed tonight, remember, "He gives (and continues to give) to you, "His beloved[,] even in [your] sleep."

Father, in Jesus' Name, our text makes so much sense because it is just like You.  Amen.
