Who/What Rules In Us?

"I will lift up my eyes to the mountainswhere does my help come from?  My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.  He will not let your foot slipHe Who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He Who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.  The LORD watches over you The LORD is your Shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.  The Lord will keep you from all harmHe will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore."  (Psalm 121)

The Church is now going through a test, perhaps a test which has not befallen us in generations.  It is really stated quite simply: Who/what are we going to believe and base our lives upon?  Jesus tells us, "The Words that I speak to you are Spirit and they are Life."  Nothing has changed.  It is still, "Looking unto Jesus."

Father, in Jesus Name, I "choose Life," You!.  Amen.

“Until....”

"Be gracious to me, O God, be gracious to me, for my soul takes refuge in you; and in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge UNTIL DESTRUCTION PASSES BY." (Psalm 57:1)

It's important to keep in mind that what is now sweeping the earth has been here before, and that everything which happens to us has happened throughout history, and is happening even now to millions of others.  I will not labor you with some theological reasoning here; that's just the way it has been, is, and will be, "....until That Day."

This should be the Church's "finest hour," not by offering cliche, pious platitudes, but by living our text, while we are, "....looking away from all that will distract us and focusing our eyes upon Jesus, Who is the Author and Perfecter of Faith."

Father, in Jesus' Name, by Your Grace I do.  Amen.

“Care For His Flock”

"The Lord Almighty will care for His Flock...and make them like a proud horse in battle."  (Zechariah 10:3b, NIV)

I pray you receive this today.  So many in the world are as, "the Lord Almighty," describes in Job 40: "Would you condemn Me to justify yourself."  That, my friend, is a losing battle.

The promises in the Word of God, our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, are all, "....will care for His Flock...."  So then, "Be strong in the Lord Jesus Christ and in His Mighty Power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes."

Father, in Jesus' Name, thank You for Your wonderful, "care for [Your] Flock."  Amen

Just A Thought

"And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures,..stood a Lamb as though it had been slain...."  (Revelation 5:6)

I have been saying now for a couple of years that "belief" for me is more an "acceptance" than an intellectual comprehension.  So, the other day I looked up the word "belief" in the dictionary.  It defines "belief" as, "An acceptance that a statement is true, or that something exists."  Furthermore, it defines "believe" as, "accept as true."

Today's text demands acceptance, not intellectual comprehension.
When John had the vision of Jesus in chapter one of Revelation, he did not attempt to believe what he saw with his mind.  Rather, "I fell at His feet as dead."  This is Biblical faith, belief, no "ifs, ands, or buts," just falling at Jesus' Feet.

Father, in Jesus' Name, I acknowledge that I can comprehend so little of your ways, but I accept them all.  Amen.
