SOME MORE THOUGHTS ON, "BE THOU MY VISION"

"....Let us...run with endurance the race...looking unto Jesus...."  (From Hebrews 12)

"Naught be all else to me save that Thou art."

For me, this means that I don't attempt to create Jesus in my image.  No matter the "answered" or "unanswered" prayers, the insight into the Scriptures or lake thereof, "Naught be all else to me save that Thou art."  There is a stay-exactly-the-way-You-are in this.

Not what my "flesh" may want You to be and do, but rather, Who You are is Whom I love, praise and serve.

"I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner condemned, unclean.

For me it was in the garden,
He prayed: 'Not My will, but Thine.'
He had no tears for His own griefs,
But sweat-drops of Blood for mine.

He took my sins and my sorrows,
He made them His very own;
He bore the burden to Calv'ry,
And suffered, and died alone.

When with the ransomed in glory
His Face I at last shall see,
'Twill be my joy through the ages
To sing of His love for me.

Chorus:
How marvelous!  How wonderful
And my song shall ever be:
How marvelous!  How wonderful!
Is my Savior's love for me!

Father, in Jesus' Name, "Naught be all else to me save that Thou art."  Amen.

A JOURNEY THROUGH, "BE THOU MY VISION"

"....Let us...run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus...."  (From Hebrews 12:1 & 2)

"Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart."  Some believe that this song was first penned over 1500 years ago.

Jesus is the Lord of my heart, not primarily my mind.  My relationship in Jesus Christ is circular: it begins in my heart, yes, spends some time in my mind, but always comes back to my heart.

The Berean Literal Bible says, "for in the heart is the belief unto righteousness...."  And, it is in the heart where life in Jesus "lives."  Our King Jesus is, "Lord of my heart."

Father, in Jesus' Name, continue to be, "Lord of my heart."  Amen.
