Down To The Foundation

"I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old, which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us."  (Psalm 78:2,3)

Over 40 years ago I had a "vision" that I was standing on the construction site of a new building.  Our Lord Jesus was down at the base of the foundation.  I was pointing out to Him the beauty of the building, its architecture, beautiful mahogany wood, the windows, etc.  As I looked at the Lord, He was not looking at what I was pointing out.  I would look at Him then go on pointing out the wonderful building, something like the disciples when they p0inted out to Jesus the beauty of the Temple.  All the while I was going on about the building, Jesus was just rubbing His Hand along the very bottom of the foundation.

Yesterday I was praying in the "heavenly language," and I noticed that it sounded so much like American Indian dialect; this happens quite often.  I then began singing in the spirit and noticed that it sounded like the "songs"/sounds the Indians make around the fire getting ready for battle.  Jesus is taking the Church back to the very Bottom of the Foundation, and the warfare is taking on a Daniel 10:20, 21, intensity, "Then he said to me, 'Do you know why I have come to you?  And now I must return to fight with the prince of Persia; and when I have gone forth, indeed the prince of Greece will come.  But I will tell you what is noted in the Scripture of Truth.  (No one upholds me against these, except Michael your prince.'"

These are the, "dark sayings of old," that which, "our fathers have told us," and this is what King Jesus is doing in the Church.  Back to the foundation, and yes, even that part of the foundation which is below ground, what no one can see, perhaps a raising up of what Isaiah described, "of the age-old foundations."  This is a great day to be alive.

Father, in Jesus' Name, I want to be a part of this.  Amen.

Prayer Answered After 52 Years

"Then Jesus answered and said to her, 'O woman, great is your faith!  Let it be to you as you desire.'  And her daughter was healed from that very hour."  (Matthew 15:28)

Our Lord Jesus heard four appeals before He responded with our text. I could spend time speculating on the reasons for this.  But could one possibility be that Jesus was drawing faith from the woman?

You will remember Luke 18:1, "And He told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart."  You know as well as I that so very many prayers we pray are not answered on the "first attempt."

You will recall the story of George Mueller who right after he surrendered his life to Jesus began to pray for five friends.  One came to Jesus after a few months, two 10 years later, and the fourth after 25 years of praying.  The last one surrender his life to Jesus 52 years later-------- after Mueller died.  I was in my twenties when I first read this.

I guess that about says it for today.

Father, in Jesus' Name, Holy Spirit keep this ever before me.  Amen.

I Simply Remind You

"It will come to pass when you come to the land which the Lord will give you, just as He promised, that you shall keep this service."  (Exodus 12:25)

This was God's instruction to Moses for the "Feast of Passover," which they were to celebrate, "for the generations to come."  This is an example of what I call, "The God of the Before and the After."  He not only spoke to Abraham centuries before of the Exodus from Egypt, He also spoke to Moses of those who would keep this Feast in the, "generations to come," millennia after the Exodus.

The people were in panic mode, and the Blessed Trinity had the nerve to speak of an event which was still 40 years in the future.  This is "faith 101."  Romans 4 tells us that Our Father, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Blessed Holy Spirit is He Who, "....gives life to the dead and calls the things which do not exist as existing."  This is a perfect description of what the Bible calls, "The Faith of Jesus."

You and I do not "see" tomorrow, but in Jesus Christ, tomorrow is already here, fulfilled in His Perfect Will and Timing and Fulfilled Promises.  Rest.

Father, in Jesus' Name, I do.  Amen.

"My Purpose Will Stand" (Jesus)

"This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord---- a lasting ordinance....You must keep this ordinance at the appointed time year after year."  (Exodus 12:14 & 13:10, NIV)

As I have been reading in Exodus over the last few days, I took particular note again that these Words of, "The Word of God," Himself, our Lord Jesus Christ, were all spoken to Moses before the Hebrews left Egypt.  Most were uncertain what the next hour would bring, let alone, "for the generations to come.., year after year."  You will remember their reaction later when the Red Sea, the mountains, and Pharaoh's Army had them boxed in with no way of escape.  You will also remember their reaction when they had no water in the wilderness, when Moses didn't come down from the mountain when they thought he should have, etc., etc., etc.

When we read Exodus, chapters 3-13, we read of Jesus speaking with Moses about not only the Hebrews' impending departure from Egypt, but also their entrance into The Land, which would not be until 40 years later, and ultimately of, "generations to come..., year after year," yes, right up to this present moment of writing and reading this devotional.  This is classic, "I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.  I say, 'My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.'"

Many are afraid, anxious, very uncertain as to what the days ahead may bring.  All must cast off their cliche religion and get into Jesus Christ and the reality of His Kingdom, "a Kingdom of all ages."  Only Father, Son Jesus, and Holy Spirit know what is on the "other side" of this, but know this for sure:  "My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please."

Father, in Jesus' Name, I pray that I can live in You in Your "Other Side."  Amen.

When Peter, an 18 year old Norwegian, "heard the call to evangelize China, on that day he not only emptied his wallet into the collection plate, but included a small note with the words, 'and my life.'"
