It is the Prayer of JESUS

"Give us this day our daily bread."  (Matthew 6:11)

Notice, it is not, "Give us this week," or, "Give us this year, or the rest of our life," but, "Give us this day...."  This is Kingdom faith living.

I have been referring to "The Lord's Prayer" as the Prayer of Jesus for many years.  It, as does incarnational theology, brings a "flesh" Person to the whole "religion" genre.  When people talk of "God" or even "the Lord" it can mean anything.  When people speak of Jesus it can only mean one thing, "God with us....For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power."  Just a note, When the Supreme Court of the United States of America outlawed The Prayer of Jesus from the state school system------they outlawed God Himself.

This is Who Jesus Christ Is.  He is the Flesh of the Godhead.  "The Word became flesh and dwelled among us, and we beheld His glory...."  Any physical appearance of God recorded in the Scripture is the revelation of Jesus Christ, Word of Father, "No one has seen God at any timeThe sole God, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him" (Interlinear).  I say again, If anyone speaks of God without Jesus Christ, they are not speaking of God; they are speaking of a god, a god of their imagination.  Just a thought, It is interesting to me that I have never heard a Muslim speak of seeing Allah.  I have heard of many thousands of Muslims, however, who have testified to seeing Jesus.

Father, in Jesus' Name, though I do not fully grasp all of the great Theology of the Bible, I desire to fully grasp You.  Amen.

The Outlawed Prayer of Jesus

"After this manner therefore pray ye:  Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.  Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven."  (Matthew 6:9, 10- KJV)

The so-called "Lord's Prayer" is the prayer of Jesus, nothing more, nothing less.  Up to 1963, every state (public) school in America began the school day with the prayer of Jesus, not a prayer of Mohammed, Buddha, or Hare Krishna.  It was on the lips of every school child, every teacher.  Since 1963, America, allowing reprobate officials to declare the praying of the prayer of Jesus in its schools an illegal act, has invited other "prayers" to rule in the school system and the nation itself, e.g., new age, the rebellion religion of the 1960s, Islam, and, yes, the religion of the Beatles.

It is no coincidence that the Beatles came to the United States in 1964 (within one year of the Supreme Court decision) with the spirit of their Hindu religion in tow, "My Sweet Lord," by George Harrison, and the reigning Christ-rejecting humanist song of the century, "Imagine," by John Lennon.  I read an article of that era.  "When a reporter asked John Lennon in 1969, 'Where do you get your strength?' he replied from Hare Krishna.  Yoko Ono confirmed, 'That's where we get if from, you know.  We're not denying it.'  George Harrison said, 'I bought the Hare Krishna album in 1968 and John Lennon and I listened to it.  I remember we sang the Hare Krishna mantra for days, John and I, with ukulele banjos, sailing through the Greek Islands chanting.  Like six hours we sang, because we couldn't stop chanting once we got going.  As soon as we stopped chanting, it was like the lights went out.'"

Well, America, your "lights" are in grave danger of going out.  The American Supreme Court declared the prayer of Jesus illegal, and opened the door to the "new age."  America is not only accumulating a growing financial debt of over $14,000,000,000,000.00, and becoming a laughing stock of nations, but worse.  America is accumulating an ever increasing debt before the Judgment Bar of God.  This is one of the reasons I am reading the Words of God into the atmosphere.  They cannot and will not stop me, though if things do not change, they will try.  This is motivating me to prayer more and more in my spirit by the Holy Spirit.  Words are seeming less and less adequate to address the intensifying battle in, "high placesTherefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."

Father, in Jesus' Name, as the battle heats up, may I also.  Amen.

"Even He Who Cannot Keep Himself Alive"

"All the prosperous of the earth shall eat and worship; all those who go down to the dust shall bow before Him, even he who cannot keep himself alive." (Psalm 22:29)

There is a great deception in the world that man can, "keep himself alive," that he can get the most out of his life by, "You can do anything, if you just put your mind to it."

The thought occurred to me this morning that I really don't know what "life" for me would be like without Jesus.  I can tell you, though, it would be dark, lonely, melancholy, without purpose, empty.  Now some might be quick to say that is the reality for all people.  Perhaps, but some people have a greater capacity to either cover all that, or just find "deliverance" in someone or something else.  But not for this poor sinner.  Nothing ever brought this reality to me in a greater way than the loss of our oldest son.

The very dangerous reality of life is that some people are getting along quite satisfactorily without Jesus Christ living within them.  Some people are just stronger than others.  Their inner coping mechanisms have been developed by a strong pride, "work ethic," a self-assured personality.  Yet all of this "strength" was developed over the years in a life devoid of a deep personal relationship in Jesus Christ.  They are living the greatest illusion of all.  If they yield to Christ's mercy, there will come a time when they realize just how fruitless is such a self-reliant life.  If they don't, they will go to the grave, strong, prosperous, eating, but, "down to the dust," with eternal Judgment awaiting them.

I am needy, weak, and fragile.  I have no problem admitting this.  The sad state of the "strong" is they don't realize this.  Our text says that some day, "All...shall...worship; all...shall bow before Him...."  Some will do so, then hear, "Depart from Me."  Those, however, who realize that without Jesus they are, "wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked," will hear, "Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."

Father, in Jesus' Name, thank You for keeping me ever mindful of just how very much I need You.  Amen.

"Strong Warning Not to Think Like Everyone Else Does"

"The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does.  He said, 'Don't call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don't live in dread of what frightens them.  Make the Lord of Heaven's Armies holy in your life.  He is the one you should fear.  He is the one who should make you tremble.  He will keep you safe.'" (Isaiah 8:11-14a, NLT)

I have referred to this passage several times before.  There is no Scripture which speaks more prophetically to the Church in this generation than this.  The exhortation is very clear.  God warns You and me as Followers of Jesus Christ to, "not think like everyone else does."

This is not the case in so much of the modern church; details are not necessary, just suffice it to say that The Word of God, Jesus Christ, says things, "to the Churches," which He cannot say to others.  Their ears, minds, and hearts are clogged with what Paul told Timothy to avoid, "the profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called" (KJV).  Too many in churches have more of an ear to "science" than to the, "the Words of God."  Most who call themselves Christian today have been conquered by Darwinism, Oprahism, and trendy philosophies.  As a result, they, "live in dread of what frightens," the "scientific" world, the political pundits, false prophets, and fellow workers around the water cooler.

I am absolutely committed to the, "Words of God," because it was the, "Words of God," not, "science falsely so-called" (the words of man), which saved my life 40 years ago after the passing of our son.  "Empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called 'knowledge,'" could do nothing for me.  But then came the, "Words of God," and power and deliverance and sustenance------ to this very day.

Try this for a New Year's Resolution-- "Make the Lord of Heaven's Armies holy in your life.  He is the one you should fear.  He is the one who should make you tremble.  He [is the ONLY One Who] will keep you safe."

Father, in Jesus' Name, You know the battle and struggle with walking in the text.  I pray, Holy Spirit, keep it before me.  Amen.

Some May Say This is a Little Strange

"The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times." (Psalm 12:6)

There is no purity as this.  I am reading the Bible, the, "words of the LORD... pure words," out loud for this quarter.  Until 1963 in the United States of America, the Words of God were read during school hours in every school house.  Every class room was filled with the Words of God.  Every American school kid was exposed to the, "purified," the, "God- Breathed," Word, and those Words were not just confined to those classrooms.  They went out to all the earth and universe.

God's Words, fulfilled and, "became flesh," in Jesus Christ, are the words of which Father Himself says, "So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."  Notice in this passage that hearing is not mentioned.  The theme is, "goes forth," and, "I sent it."  I am simply "participating" in this.

During the first quarter of 2011, I am committed to literally filling the air with the "Words of God."  I have been reading them facing North, South, East, and West.  I am committed to doing this as a part of my four hour prayer time.  It is my version of "declaration!"  I know, as a Czech friend of mine says in his broken English, "This is no normal"----------------- but, hey, why start now?!?

Father, in Jesus' Name, maybe to some it may seem strange, but not to me.  "Your Word is forever settled in Heaven," and I am only settled when I am in Your Word.  Amen.

"Say...to the Righteous"

"Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings." (Isaiah 3:10, KJV)

I ordinarily do not send a devotional on Sundays, but I am going through the Bible this quarter using the King James Version.  I came across our text in my "Major Prophets" reading, and thought of you, "the righteous."

Whatever the Enemy of man may be accusing you of, ignore him.  In Jesus Christ we are, "the righteous."  As the hymn says, "His Blood can make the foulest clean."  See!  I am included.

Father, in Jesus' Name, thank You that because of Jesus, I am of, "the righteous."  Amen.
