"I Don't Argue-- I Only Testify" (E. Stanley Jones)

"Son of man, I have made you a watchman....If I warn...but you fail to deliver the warning,..I will hold you responsible...." (Ezekiel 3:18-- NLT)

The way I have printed our text is a proper exegesis.  It emphasizes the universality of the watchman call.  Our text does not just apply to the "spiritual" things of life.  It applies to------------------life. 

Recently I received this information from Brother Andrew which is, what I believe, a warning to America.  "Uzbekistan: A one-hour program was recently aired on national television portraying Christianity as a danger to society and a global problem, along with fundamentalism, terrorism, and drug addiction."  This spirit is not only in Uzbekistan, it is in the United States of America.  What happened in Eastern Europe, China, Cuba and other places in the latter half of the twentieth century, most Americans think could never happen here.  But under an Obama administration, it is not just a possibility; it is a probability.  That which is perceived to be "right-wing, religious conspiracy" will be targeted more and more.  I have been issuing such warnings for a long time.  If the Church in America does not vote to keep those who hate the America they were handed, those dominated by the deception of the "powers of darkness" out of the Executive Branch of the government, out of control of the US Congress, they will then see the Judicial Branch dominated by those who reject the Law of God revealed in Jesus Christ, advance the murder of the unborn, advance same gender marriages, cripple the small business person, endorse Congress to take more of your money to fund such wickedness, and target "bigoted" Christians.  And, in the words of our text, "I will hold you responsible." 

On the morning of December 7, 1941, a report came into an army office at Pearl Harbor that a large number of planes appeared on radar.  It was not an argument.  It was reported fact.  The response of one of the officers was, "Yea?  Well, don't worry about it."  History is not an opinion.  It is fact.  E. Stanley Jones once articulated a great life principle.  "I don't argue.  I only testify."  This is what a soul winner does.  This is what a prophet and a watchman does.  He does not argue.  He just "testifies" to what he sees on the "radar."  Today, I encourage you to not argue Jesus Christ.  Testify to Jesus Christ.  Do not argue the Kingdom.  Testify to the Kingdom.  The Holy Spirit will do the rest.

Father, in Jesus' Name, deliver Your Church from arguers and let the testifiers arise.  Amen.

America Arguing With The Word of God

"Every word of God is unalloyed, a shield to those who take refuge in Him."  (Proverbs 30:5-- Jerusalem Bible)

The NKJV translates our text, "Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him."  I believe the, "He," in our text is Jesus Christ, the Only One to Whom the "God-Breathed" Word refers to as "The Word of God."  The NIV translates, "unalloyed," as, "flawless."  There you have it.  The absolute "Unalloyed, Pure, Flawless Word of God [Jesus Christ] is a refuge and a shield"-------------------- for me, for you, for anyone. 

I want to draw your attention to the word, "unalloyed," today.  According to the dictionary, an alloy is "a metal made by combining two or more metallic elements, esp. to give greater strength or resistance to corrosion."  But with what could you possibly "combine" the Word of God, Jesus Christ, and His Words which would give more strength?--- Absolute zero.  Hence, the next definition: "an inferior metal mixed with a precious one, figurative-- debase (something) by adding something inferior."  America and the American church has been under the alloying process of corrupt leaders for decades.  I call it the "alloyization" of a culture, and the attempted "alloyization" of the Word of God. 

As I was working on this last evening, I received a teaching from a Mark Creech.  He shared a quote of Barak Obama.  It is a perfect example of an attempt to mix an inferior metal with a precious one.  "Democracy demands that the religiously motivated translate their concerns into universal, rather than religion-specific, values.  It requires that their proposals be subject to argument, and amenable to reason. I may be opposed to abortion for religious reasons, but if I seek to pass a law banning the practice, I cannot simply point to the teachings of my church or evoke God's will. I have to explain why abortion violates some principle that is accessible to people of all faiths, including those with no faith at all."

The writer went on to say that "currently, much of society prefers many choices to the struggles of life rather than one, or better still, a fusing of the many choices into some sort of conglomerate."  If
Americans, very especially Christian Americans, choose Obama, they are choosing an alloyed religion, a conglomeration morality, and will have to give account "in That Day."  Obama comes from a "mill" of specialists in alloy-ization of not only the Christian faith, but the America of The Constitutional Convention----------- the alloyed morality of Bill Clinton.    

Americans have traditionally worshipped at the altar of plurality, conglomeration.  If they choose to offer America on that altar on November 4th-------------------- the America which we have known will cease to exist.  For Sarah and me, "Jesus is (has been and will continue to be) a shield to those who put their trust in Him." 

Father, in Jesus' Name, Your Words are my Lamp and Light.  Holy Spirit, bring with great conviction any time I attempt to alloy or conglomerate them---------- Him.  Amen.

A Prayer For "Such a Time"

"For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.  And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do.  Inasmuch then as we have a great High Priest Who has [already] ascended and passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith in Him]. (Hebrews 4:12-14-- Amplified)

Father, in Jesus' Name, I pray that Your Word will be "alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective" in me and Your Church.  I pray that This Same Word will break forth in Your Church everywhere, "penetrating to the dividing line of...soul and...spirit, and of joints and...the deepest parts of our nature, exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of" my heart, the hearts of my Fellow Believers, people in the five fold ministries, in President Bush, the Congress, the Supreme Court, the State Department, the military, in Obama and McCain, the Democrats and Republicans, the nations of the world.  I pray that no creature on this planet will be able to conceal anything, but that "all things" will be "open and exposed, naked and defenseless," not only to You, but to Your People and all who "hunger and thirst for righteousness."  I pray that by Your Word You will expose, make "naked and defenseless" all deception and deceiving spirits in the media, in political parties, in everyone everywhere.  How I thank You today that "we have a great High Priest Who has [already] ascended and passed through the heavens, Jesus," Your Son.  I pray that Your Church will never fail to "hold fast our confession [of faith in Him]"--------- Amen.

"A Child Who Gets His Own Way Brings Shame...."

"The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child who gets his own way brings shame to his mother." (Proverbs 29:15)

This applies to individuals and nations.  America and indeed the nations of the world have experienced the "rod and reproof" of the Living Christ.  Man sowed his "wild oats" of greed and hoped for a crop failure.  But the "crop" did not fail.  It "brought forth fruit," and instead of receiving "correction," man has manifested as "a child who gets his own way." 

A person or people group who are always clamoring for their "own way" will bring shame, not only on their progenitors, but on themselves.  Man was not created to get "his own way."  Genesis 3 proves this.  Genesis 2 in the Amplified Bible says that we were created to "tend and guard and keep" the earth--------- and each other.  We were created to serve, not rule over men and nations!  The "dominion" talk of the last couple of decades is just a cloak for religious man demanding "his own way."

Jesus said, "But I am among you as the one who serves."  Jesus prayed to Our Father, "Not my will, but Thine be done," and His Prayer, "The Lord's Prayer," teaches us to pray and live the same.  Our Lord Jesus is the Perfect Example of an obedient child, submitted to His Father's will.  How on earth can I manifest otherwise.   

Father, in the Name of Jesus, Holy Spirit, convict me every time I act like a spoiled child.  Amen.

"Those Who Call Evil Good, And Good Evil"---A Must See Video!

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter."  (Isaiah 5:20)

This is the Democrat Party in America.  This is very nearly all the Democrats in the US House of Representatives and Senate.  And could we say, "This is America?!?"  If it is, it is the American church which is primarily to blame.  I point no finger.  I did nothing in 1962 and 1963 when the Supreme Court of the United States outlawed the Prayer of Jesus and the "God-Breathed" Word in the American State ("public") school system.  I did nothing in 1973 when the Supreme Court legalized
the murder of the unborn.  What was it that Edmund Burke said?  "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."  Albert Einstein said that "the world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing."

The coming US Presidential election is a living example of our text, and if you and I do not know the difference between good and evil, we will be deceived into rejecting McCain/Palin and accepting Obama/Biden.  I am very sorry for those who think this is too simplistic, partisan, bigoted.  It is Kingdom.  It is taking the Word, Jesus Christ, seriously.  The Church in America and around the world needs a little more of what Paul described in 2 Cor. 11, "simplicity and devotion to Christ."  This election and any election is not primarily about personalities.  If it were, we would never vote for anybody.  "All have sinned!"  This election and every election in any country is about principles, Kingdom of Heaven Principles, those principles revealed in the Bible, and, in party platforms, in candidates, in pulpits.  This is a call to the American Church to "choose...this day whom we will serve!"

I encourage you to go to     Cspan.org     and scroll down to the speech which Sarah Palin gave right here in Johnstown, PA, on October 11.  Then you tell me which candidates best represent what you believe.
The video is around 29 minutes.  The section from 13:00 to 26:00 on the counter is where she speaks about protection of innocent life.  If you wish to hear and see the best expression of "the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ" in this campaign yet----------- view it!

Father, in Jesus' Name, I simply ask today that You fulfill this word in me and in Your Church-- "Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins."  Amen.
