Another Bible Prayer

"Confuse and confound their speech...."  (Psalm 55:9, Christian Standard Bible)

This is a new translation which came out a couple of years.  Again, we have a prayer to those who persist in opposing Jesus Christ, His Church and Kingdom.

I have added it to my "library."  Praying Bible prayers is the most powerful praying, because in praying Jesus' Prayers, which is the Bible, as with "The Lord's Prayer," we pray His will.  Of course we ask, seek, knock, but for me it is always in the "channel" of His Words.

The Bible calls you and me to pray "high" and "deep."  I can think of no one who can take me "deeper" and "higher" in prayer than our Lord Jesus and His Words.  The world is in increasing turmoil.  It is the call to the Followers of Jesus to be "watchmen on the wall."  Today's text is another bow in our quiver.

Father, in Jesus' Name, by the power of You dwelling me, I pray for strength, "to turn the battle at the gate."  Amen.

"But The Lord Is With Me...."

"But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevailThey will fail and be thoroughly disgraced; their dishonor will never be forgotten."  (Jeremiah 20:11, NIV)

Today's text was brought to my attention by our pastor.  Reading in various translations from time to time brings new insights.

I have written and said many times that President Trump is far from flawless, though if you listen to the media, that's all they are clamoring for, as though they and their cronies are the zenith of moral clarity and behavior.  No president, nor no one is flawless.  I repeat: I vote and support policies, not people.  Hey, maybe we should look more to this philosophy in the Church.

At any rate, today's text is another prayer I have added to my prayers for the American President.  I can tell you that I am seeing the answers to many prayers which I have been praying for the US Government, the press, and the Hollywood "world."  Of course millions of others are praying, but it is great to see very specific prayers answered. Keep going!

Our text is also applicable to Israel and the Church.  Just consider history: The Babylonian Empire is gone; the Media-Persian Empire is gone; Alexander the Great is now not so "great;" Rome, which persecuted the Church mercilessly, and drove all the Jews out of the capitol, is gone, well, you get the picture.  But the text also is true of you and me, though for many it may not appear to be the case now.  Nonetheless, the Bible declares throughout that the enemies of King Jesus, His Church and Kingdom, "....will fail and be thoroughly disgraced; their dishonor will never be forgotten."

I pray for, "....my persecutors...," those who live, legislate, and propagate a culture of death, whose life philosophy is contrary to Jesus Christ.  Pray with me that they will, "come to the knowledge of the truth," by surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ. Remember: "O, revival is coming, but not as you expect," which probably means the "greatest revival" ever.

Father, in Jesus' Name, Thank You for Your manifest rule in the earth.  Amen.

"Leave Them For The Poor And...The Stranger"

"When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvestLeave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among youI am the Lord your God."  (Leviticus 23:22, NIV)

Does this sound like a God who does not care, a God who is just out to judge and condemn, a God who cares little for the details of our lives?!?

This may seem like a "small thing" to the shallow------- but it is very deep, as the song writer penned, "Oh, The Deep, Deep Love of Jesus" (sending words separately).  The Bible is full of "illustrations" revealing the love of the Blessed Trinity, but this text always touches my heart.

What is left of our day is an opportunity to, "....not wholly reap the corners of your field....Leave them for the poor and for the stranger...."

Father, in Jesus' Name, Your love always breaks through in "unexpected" places.  Amen.

"God Has Gone Up With...The Sound Of A Trumpet"

"God has gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet."  (Psalm 47:5)

Don't try to exegete this; just enjoy this.  This morning I did it with my shophar.  I do also miss my trombone, but alas, time moves on.

I also had the "experience" which I have had before.  My prayer language at one point "shifted" into that North American Indian sound.  As I considered that, I felt as though Jesus spoke to my heart that the Church will soon be discovering its "roots," or more Biblically perhaps, "foundations."  The previous "word" that the coming revival will not be what is expected came to mind.

Also, I did much singing in the spirit, which is quickly becoming nonexistent in Christendom.  It was/is always glorious for me.  I do it in our church services, though quietly there because the gatherings should be an expression of our "life together," not our private devotions in a public setting.

So there you have it, my friend, a little "day-in-the-life-of" worship, intercession, etc.  And, Never forget:  These "moments" are not just for the "quiet time," or gatherings, or morning devotions, etc.  Everywhere, every moment of the day the opportunities are there to engage in communion in Father, Son Jesus, and Holy Spirit, "....a VERY PRESENT help...."

"If we walk in the Light as He is in the Light, we have fellowship (partnership),.." in Jesus Christ, Who, as the Ever-Present One, "....has gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpetSing praises to God, sing praisesSing praises to our King, sing praisesFor God is the King of all the earth...."

Father, in Jesus' Name,  ....early in the morning my song shall rise to Thee."  Amen.
