"Leave Them For The Poor And...The Stranger"

"When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvestLeave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among youI am the Lord your God."  (Leviticus 23:22, NIV)

Does this sound like a God who does not care, a God who is just out to judge and condemn, a God who cares little for the details of our lives?!?

This may seem like a "small thing" to the shallow------- but it is very deep, as the song writer penned, "Oh, The Deep, Deep Love of Jesus" (sending words separately).  The Bible is full of "illustrations" revealing the love of the Blessed Trinity, but this text always touches my heart.

What is left of our day is an opportunity to, "....not wholly reap the corners of your field....Leave them for the poor and for the stranger...."

Father, in Jesus' Name, Your love always breaks through in "unexpected" places.  Amen.
