"BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO...."

"....whoever loves and practices a lie."  (Revelation 22:15)

Our text is manifesting more and more in American politics, and not just in the United States of America, but throughout the earth.   

Our text is preceded in the previous verse with, "Blessed are those who do His commandments...."  The contrast is quite clear.  The whole discourse is Jesus speaking, and He, "....is not mocked."

The iniquity of the Amorite is being exposed more and more, and as the Lord God told Ezekiel so many times, "Then they shall know that I am the Lord."  He is coming!

Father, in Jesus' Name, You said that Your, "people will be ready in the day of Your power."  I depend on Your Words.  Amen.

Hebrews 12:2

"THE LORD IS THERE"

"All the way around shall be eighteen thousand cubits; and the name of the city from that day shall be:  THE LORD IS THERE." (Ezekiel 48:35)

These are the last Words of the Major Prophets section of the Bible.  This is akin to what Jesus says in John 12:26, "Whoever serves Me must follow Me, and where I am, there also will my servant be...."  (NAB)

Isn't this "what it's all about?"---- "THE LORD IS THERE"----"....and where I am...."  Moreover, Revelation 22 confirms that The Living Triune God Himself is our eternal resting place.  "This world is not my home, I'm just a-passing through." (Hebrews 11)  

Father, in Jesus' Name, in a world filled with such hatred and violence, I thank You for providing me a home in, "THE LORD IS THERE."  Amen.

THE CLOSE OF THE FIRST QUARTER READING

"And the Spirit and the bride say, 'Come!'  And let him who hears say, 'Come!'  And let him who thirsts come.  Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely."  (Revelation 22:17)

Always inviting, is our King and Savior, Jesus Christ.  What a glorious, all-encompassing invitation, "Whoever desires...."  Sorry, Calvinists.

And here in the last chapter of the Bible every person on Planet Earth is invited to "the Banquet Table."  The glories of what is in store for all who surrender their lives to Jesus Christ simply cannot be described.  The whole Book of Revelation gives us descriptions, but I agree with the song writer, "I scarce can take it in."

The invitation is awaiting the acceptance of the billions on Planet Earth.

Father, in Jesus' Name, thank You for Your merciful invitation.  Amen.

SOME WERE, OTHERS WERE NOT

"Women received back their dead, raised to life.  There were others who were tortured...."  (Hebrews 11:35a, b) 

In just one verse we read the history of the Followers of Jesus Christ.  Some experienced great miracles, "others...were tortured...."

This is reality throughout Salvation History.  Some in the modern Church do not allow such talk.  They would call it a lack of faith, failing to rightly "declare," or "claim the promises."  Don't listen to them.  Believe the, "God-Breathed," Words and you will live in the "grip" of reality.

Father, in Jesus' Name, "For all the saints who from their labor rest.., Thy Name, O Jesus, be forever praised, Hallelujah, Hallelujah."  Amen.
