"Snatch-Proof" Theology

"From eternity to eternity I am God.  No one can snatch anyone out of my hand.  No one can undo what I have done."
(Is. 43:13-- NLT)
"
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never lose it or perish throughout the ages.  [To all eternity they shall never by any means be destroyed. And no one is able to snatch them out of My hand." (Jesus: John 10:28-- Amplified Bible)

Whatever your fears, your uncertainties, your anxieties, our text will liberate you.  You may say, "But I don't feel liberated."  Doesn't matter.  Truth will triumph over feelings every time.  Our text is a promise of the Word Himself, Jesus Christ.  It is done.

Father, in Jesus' Name, I thank You that no one or nothing can steal me from You.  Amen.

"The Richest Measure of the Divine Presence"

"....that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!" (Ep. 3:19b--Amplified)

Our text is a part of a Pauline prayer.  Paul speaks of "mysteries" several times in the context, and perhaps the greatest mystery revealed in all Scripture is right here----- that you and I, members of His Body, the Church,  "may be filled unto all the fullness of God," i.e., everything which the Godhead is and gives can be in us, if we are surrendered to Jesus Christ.

Bible prayers are the greatest prayers which we can offer.  They are divinely approved, reveal Father's purposes for us, and ignite faith.  If we as individuals and as local congregations believe our "prayer text" today, the world will encounter in us, the Church, "all the fullness of God,and, "the richest measure of the Divine Presence"--------------------------- not just in meetings, but wherever life takes us.

Father, in Jesus' Name, I pray that I and our church may be filled unto all the fullness of You, that we may have "the richest measure of the divine Presence," so that the world may see and receive "the knowledge of the glory of You in the face of Jesus Christ"--------- and in us.  Amen.

Nothing Restrains The Lord Jesus Christ

"So he said to Him, 'O my Lord, how can I save Israel?  Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.'  And the Lord said to him, 'Surely I will be with you."  (Judges 6:15, 16a)

The answer to Gideon's question was, "Surely I will be with you."  Later in Israel's history, Jonathan would tell his armor bearer, "Nothing restrains the LORD from saving by many or by few."  Americans just cannot get this right.

Fighters from the Mehdi Army militia.

Why can't M1 Abrams tanks, Humvees, helicopters, F 16s, and soldiers laden down with the finest battle equipment defeat these guys?  Two main reasons-- First, it is not a battle of equipment.  It is a battle of wills  and resolve.  Second, America has become a nation which has relied on the "many," not the, "Surely I will be with you."

American Believers have a daily battle with the "Gideon Principle."  America thinks bigger and more is better.  We told the Living Triune God that now since we are a super power, our children could get by without His prayer and His Word starting the classroom day.  We are giving more time and freedom to the Koran, the Oprah's, Hollywood, and the economy than the Reign of Jesus Christ and His Word.  There is just no room any longer for, "Surely I will be with you."

We continue to pray for America and other nations of the world to come to their senses, to realize that terrorists running around in jeans and tennis shoes, and Vietnamese transporting military equipment on bicycles will defeat the greatest equipped army in the world---------- if that army relies on, "by many" rather than, "by few."  But what about you today?  The only one for whom you can decide is yourself, not the nation or anyone else.  Break from the, "my clan is the weakest," and join the "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."  If you do, victory is yours.

Father, in Jesus' Name, never let me forget that I cannot "save Israel" or anyone unless You fulfill, "Surely I will be with you."  Amen.

Warning: A Little Long, But Timely

"Because I live, you shall live also."  (Jesus)

The headlines of an Israeli newspaper today read, "Seven Rockets Hit Israel, Seriously Wounding a Farmer."  And the millennia old hatred justs keeps progressing to the final days-------- and make no mistake; they are coming.  This is what I recently wrote to a person who thought I was a little too "warlike."
"The war evil has been here from almost the beginning.  Poor old
Chamberlain lives in infamy for trying to appease this.  It can't be
done.  We have a free country today, because some were willing to
die for that freedom.  The Arab/Islamic culture has always hated
the Jew and the West, and they hate the US today because we are
the only friend Israel has.  Though I hate war and killing, and, I      might add, love the Arab/Muslim, I cannot advocate pacifism in light      of such a reality."

I am thankful that I have the blood of Thomas Sherwood running in my veins.  He was a Quaker, and you know that Quakers are pacifists.  But as the evils of slavery and the attempts to destroy the United States of America through violent means raged on, he came to the same conclusion as Dietrich Bohnhoeffer.  If someone is committing a crime and you stand by, and by your refusal to do anything, aid it, you are just as guilty.  He joined the Ohio 79th, a volunteer unit which fought with General William Sherman, to free the slaves, to preserve the Union.

During our first trip to Israel in 1993, a "palestinian" Arab attacked our guide.  Before I thought, or assessed the situation, the next thing I knew, I had that attacker up against a wall with my arm under his chin.  I am not a fighter. When I was a kid, I never fought.  But in that brief second, I simply reacted.  Later, I thought, "He could have had a knife, a gun, accomplices, and I would be dead."  But what of it?  Many died that I might live.  What of life is so valuable?

Jesus died that you and I might live.  Are you willing to die that others might live?  This is true, Biblical, Covenantal, Kingdom living.  "
He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it."  Jesus spilled His Blood, died, and rose from the grave, that we might live-------------------------- and follow, in the words of the popular book, In His Steps.

Father, in Jesus' Name, deliver me from self preservation "christianity," to humanity preservation Christianity.  Amen.
