Unparalleled

"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1)

I think we all need to be careful what we pass on over the Internet.  Today I received a forward from a Christian who quoted the eldest son of the founder of the Bahai Faith.  The Bahai Faith website states that "Baha'u'llah claimed to be nothing less than a new and independent Messenger from God.  His life, work, and influence parallel that of Abraham, Krishna, Moses, Zoraster, Buddha, Christ, and Muhammad."  Sorry; Jesus has no "parallel."

Our text states that, "
many false prophets have gone out into the world;" and they continue to go, "out into the world."  To "test the spirits," one must consider their belief about and submission to the absolute Lordship of Jesus Christ.  He dominates the early creeds.  Our Father and the Holy Spirit were not so maligned by false prophets as was, and is, Jesus Christ.  The Bible is clear; Jesus is, "Immanuel, God with us."  If Jesus Christ is not affirmed and declared as, "God with us," if Jesus Christ is not declared as the Sole Claimant to, "the way, the truth, and the life," that which is behind such denial, "is the spirit of the Antichrist."

The Bible declares throughout that the days leading to the culmination of the age will be full of growing deception.  There is something in wishful-thinking humanity which wants all religions to contain truth.  It is driven by the humanist song, "I want the world to sing a song in perfect harmony," harmony defined as that which does not affirm, "
Jesus Christ is Lord."  No religion or philosophy affirms or believes that only Jesus Christ is, "the way, the truth, and the life."  Paul says, "have nothing to do with them."  Truth is not a statement of facts.  Truth is a Person, unparalleled, unequaled.  "For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens."

Father, in Jesus' Name, I trust Your "testing."  Amen.
