Declaration and Prayer for Israel and The Church

"The LORD is their strength, and He is the saving refuge of His anointed.  Save Your people, and bless your inheritance; Shepherd them also, and bear them up forever." (Psalm 28:8, 9)

In our text we have a declaration of Who the Living Triune God is, and a prayer for His People.  Indulge a little word study here--V. 8: "strength"--"force, security, majesty, praise," translated elsewhere, "boldness, loud, might, power, strength, strong"-- "saving refuge"-- "a fortified place, a defense, something saved, deliverance, aid, victory, prosperity," translated elsewhere, "force, fortress, rock, help, salvation, health, welfare."  Here we have the Indwelling Lord Jesus Christ, our "force, security, majesty, praise, boldness, loud declaration to the universe, might, power, strength."
Whatever is going on in your day, this should take care of you.

Then the psalmist prays what Jesus Christ is, always has been, and ever shall be in His People--- "save"--"to be open, wide or free, to be safe, to free or succor, translated elsewhere, "avenging, defend, preserve, be safe, get victory"-- "shepherd"-- "to tend a flock, pasture it, to rule, to associate with (as a friend), translated elsewhere, "companion, keep company with."

Alright, I'm ready.  On this "International Day of Prayer for Jerusalem," I pray for, "The City of the Great King" Jesus Christ, and for us, His Church-- Father, in Jesus' Name, make Israel and Your Church "open, wide, free, safe.  Succor us, avenge us, defend us, preserve us, keep us safe, grant us to walk in You, Our Victor.  Tend Your flock; pasture it, rule it, associate with us as Your friend, companion, and by all means, Father, "KEEP COMPANY WITH" us eternally.  Amen.
