The Gospel of Jesus Is Everywhere

"Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them." (Genesis 3:21)

The Gospel, Good News of Jesus Christ is everywhere in the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation.  God was not a bad god in the Old Testament and suddenly become good in the New.  Now while some may think this absurd, I just ask you to consider what you have heard (perhaps even thought yourself at times) people say over the years, "O, that's Old Testament," as though nothing much good comes from the Old Testament, or at least, dismiss as no longer applicable in the present dispensation.  Many have the idea that God somehow got converted between the Old and New Covenants.

Notice, "....for Adam and his wife the Lord God made," their covering.  The blood shed in order to cloth Adam and Eve was a type, a foreshadow of the Blood of Jesus, Who Alone, "is the propitiation (atoning sacrifice) for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world."  Jesus was revealing to the first humans that there was nothing and there never could be anything a human could do to repair the rebellion and subsequent severing of relationship between man and the Living Triune God.  They became aware of, not the nakedness of the body, but the nakedness of rebellion, rejection, aka, sin.

I too have sinned, and just as egregiously as Adam, as any person who ever lived, "For all have sinned...."  But just as Jesus did for Adam, so He did for you and me.  You and I are now bathed in the Blood of our Passover Lamb, Jesus, cleansed in the Blood of Jesus, purged in the Blood of Jesus, washed in the Blood of Jesus, totally justified in the Blood of Jesus, and yes, just as has been said so many times before, "just-as-if-I'd-never-sinned."  Only Jesus, only Jesus' Blood could and can continue to keep us in such a forgiven, cleansed, sanctified, delivered, preserved and peaceful state.  I can live in peace today only through and in the Blood of Jesus, "For indeed Christ our Passover was sacrificed for us."

Father, in Jesus' Name, I pray that my life so manifest, "so great a salvation."  Amen.
