"Noah Found Grace"

"But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD." (Genesis 6:8)

So may you and I today!  The Living Bible says, "But Noah was a pleasure to the Lord."  I can think of no higher realization in life.

Yesterday, reading the first five chapters of Genesis, I noticed how particularly "simple" the declarations of the Word of God.  God just spoke and breathed into the, "void," the, "formless and empty...darkness," and here you have it, the universe, our solar system, life-----------you, me.  Then Jesus, the One, "by whom also he made the worlds," Jesus, by Whom, "were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers," Jesus, by Whom, "all things were created," made two people who eventually thought they knew better than the Creator; and, after being put out of fellowship for their rebellion, encountered a, "flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life."  Sin will still bring us to that, "flaming sword," today.  Some time later they had two sons who fought over who was the most spiritual; one killed the other (nothing has changed).  The curse on the one is still evident today, still engaged in city building.  The third son was in the lineage of The Coming One.  Then we see Enoch, who lived a short life and just vanished, "for God took him" (What a great exit from this sin-sick world).

Today, our text speaks of Noah, the grace-finder, also in the ancestry of King Jesus.  No fanfare in the Bible, just declarations of, "the way it is."  For me, nothing left to say but, "Unto Him be glory in the Church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end.  Amen."

Father, in Jesus' Name, I know I have a choice as to whom and what I believe.  I choose You and Your "In the beginning...Breathed" Word.  Amen.
