"Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore!"
(1 Chronicles 16:11)--- "Seek his presence continually" (RSV)
Today is the Israeli national election----- a long way from the Kingdom in David's time. Most of the world still believes that Israel usurped the rightful ownership of The Land in 1948. The authority on the matter is not human emotion, political correctness, historical investigation. The Authority is the "God-Breathed" Word. The Word of God spoke to Abraham and said in affect, "Lift up your eyes. It's all yours and your descendants'." The issue was forever settled. You will remember at one point Abraham, in his conversation with Lot, thought he had the right and ability to give it away. The Word just ignored him, and repeated His Degree.
What do you think you have the right and ability to change today? If it goes contrary to the Word of God, Jesus Christ, then it is already a failure. Have you been watching the antics at the White House and Capitol Hill? So many people blame "failure" on bad timing, bad "breaks," unfair political process, their upbringing, gender, race, big business, and so on. But failure comes when we are out of the purposes (will) of Jesus Christ. When we are walking in obedience to Jesus Christ, our Savior and King, our God-Breathing Word, there is no force in the universe which can withstand us.
No only Americans, but the world in general look too much to Washington for help, then blame Washington when it cannot help. It is not the American government, economic and military power, nor the "Declaration of Independence," nor the American Constitution which is the guarantee of "life, liberty, and...happiness." It is the cry of the Word of God through the ages, "Seek His Face forevermore/continually." The greatest invitation to "life, liberty, and...happiness" is ------------- "Seek Me and live."
Father, in Jesus' Name, may Your Word be my "silent" argument. Amen.
