"Uphold my steps in Your paths, that my footsteps may not slip." (Psalm 17:5)
The advantage that you and I have who are Followers of Jesus, viz., those in whom Jesus Christ lives, is that Jesus' very presence in us fulfills our text. Jesus does not just "hold my hand." His upholding power is an in-me power and presence.
Notice also that it is not just, "Uphold my steps...." The context and emphasis is, "....in Your paths." Jesus' indwelling presence will always, "Uphold [our] steps in [His] paths------------- that [our] footsteps may not slip."
Father, in Jesus' Name, I repent of too much time on my "paths." Keep me, Holy Spirit, in Your, "paths." Amen.
