"'He trusts in the Lord,' they say, 'let the Lord rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him.'" (Psalm 22:8, NIV)
This is a "foreshadow" of Jesus on the Cross, the mocking, the ridicule. But has this ever happened to you? Perhaps it has without you even knowing about it. Maybe what is worse is when one does it to oneself.
You and I trust in our Lord Jesus Christ; we delight in Jesus Christ. There are times/seasons, however, when the "rescue" and deliverance for which we long and pray do not seem to be "there." What to do?
Not long after our Stephen died, my Dad and I were standing in the living room. He stood there with his hands in his pockets and said to me, "What now?" Without thinking about it, my response was, "We go on." Not real profound perhaps, but I'm still going on------- in Jesus Christ. May that be your life motto, my friend.
Father, in Jesus' Name, I thank You for the power and grace to, "We go on." Amen.
When Peter, an 18 year old Norwegian, "heard the call to evangelize China, on that day he not only emptied his wallet into the collection plate, but included a small note with the words, 'and my life.'"
