"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich." (2 Corinthians 8:9)
If this isn't love, nothing is.
Jesus', "poverty," is manifested on the Cross. He hanged naked on the Cross, suffering the death sentence of the worst of criminals. (I argue with Paul: "I am the worst of all.") Jesus gave up everything that you and I might have everything.
What we have in Jesus Christ is found in the meaning of Shalom: "peace, harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, welfare and tranquility." The Followers of Jesus Christ are rich beyond imagination.
Father, in Jesus' Name, You are indeed, "Jesus, Lover of my soul." Amen.
