"Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; when I fall, I will arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me." (Micah 7:8)
St. Augustine once said, "The New is in the Old concealed. The Old is in the New revealed."
The following New Covenant writings are the reflection of this concerning our text. Paul reminded the Corinthian Church, "We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;...struck down, but not destroyed...."
And then the wonderful Words which are the fulfillment of, "....the Lord will be a light to me." Jesus tells us, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." So there you have it: Micah 7:8 affirmed and fulfilled in the New Covenant in Jesus Christ.
Father, in Jesus' Name, Thank You. Amen.
