Here Is A Prayer For You

"For this reason we also...do not cease to pray...that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father Who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the lightHe has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the Kingdom of the Son of His love, in Whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins."  (Colossians 1:9-14)

Notice that the prayer for you is then followed by the great declaration of our Salvation in Jesus Christ, "He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the Kingdom of the Son...through His Blood."  The word, "conveyed," means to, "transfer, cause to change its place, move out of its place, remove."  Yes, when we surrendered our lives to Jesus Christ, our Lord Jesus, "cause[d us] to change [our] place," from the domain and rule of Satan to the domain and rule of Jesus.

When we began to follow Jesus Christ, you and I changed masters and kingdoms, were brought from death to life.  And the prayer above is a prayer which you and I can pray in confidence, first, because this prayer "made the Book;" second, it is exactly the "result" of our new life in Jesus.  It is a great "declaration prayer."  We don't have to wonder if this is a prayer for us, or, if The Blessed Trinity will answer it, because this prayer, as all Bible prayers, is His Prayer.  This prayer is His will for you and me.  I'm sure you know that praying Bible prayers is the most fun of the day.

Father, in Jesus' Name, I add an, "Amen," to Your Prayer.  Amen.

Please pray this prayer for us also, as we prepare for the October Mission in Berlin, and for my missions in DC.  Thanks.

When Peter, an 18 year old Norwegian, "heard the call to evangelize China, on that day he not only emptied his wallet into the collection plate, but included a small note with the words, 'and my life.'"
