"Jesus answered and said to her, 'If you knew the gift of God, and Who it is Who says to you, '"Give Me a drink,'" you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.'" (John 4:10)
Jesus here offers Himself to her, but she immediately goes to the religious arena, "Our fathers worshiped on this mountain."
Here is Jesus, in front of her, offering the Water which He Himself Is, and she speaks of going to a mountain. Did she just get so overwhelmed with this encounter, or did unbelief, the refusal to accept what she just heard, win out?
Thankfully, it seems as though she went from questions to receiving, receiving Jesus, our well of Living Water, "....springing up into everlasting Life."
Father, in Jesus' Name, I can never thank You enough that You invite us to, "Abide in Me and I in you." Amen.
When Peter, an 18 year old Norwegian, "heard the call to evangelize China, on that day he not only emptied his wallet into the collection plate, but included a small note with the words, 'and my life.'"
