Local Pittsburgh TV is already announcing the "Gay Pride" festivities for May 31-June 2. I'm ashamed. A pastor friend of mine had to recently resign from his parish because the board decided that a Transvestite could work in the church nursery.
Phillip Jacob Spener, one of Germany's great theologians of the 17th Century, penned, "Indeed, we may say that the highly enlightened apostle (Paul), if he came among us today, would probably understand only a little of what our slippery geniuses sometimes say in holy places....Much graver is the injury that comes from sins which are no longer recognized as sins or whose gravity is no longer realized."
Yes, we are all "sinners saved by grace," but not in order to keep on sinning. Repentance means saying to King Jesus, "I am wrong. You alone are right." Repentance is stop doing what we were doing against Him and His Word, and start doing what we were not doing as He commands. How can the world know truth if, "....the pillar and ground of the Truth", sends confusing signals.
Father, in Jesus' Name, I pray that my friend and I walk in continual repentance. Amen.
